The gap between Yao (assuming he is 100% by playoffs) and Bynum is bigger than the gap between Pau and Luis.
Lakers front court gets the nod because Yao is a question mark and Gasol/Bynum/Odom/Artest is probably the most versatile group of 4 front court players you'll find in the league. Rockets back court takes the cake based mostly on Aaron Brooks' domination of both Derek Fisher and Steve Blake in the Rockets last 2 playoff series. Kobe is the most frightening opponent there is, but Battier has proven that he can at least make him work hard and play inefficiently. That's enough for me.
I don't see how there can be any question about this at all. Two straight NBA titles say it's the Lakers hands down. Front court, back court, coaching staff, you name it - they are better, period.
I think that's debatable considering that Yao will be playing limited minutes and Bynum/Gasol are younger. When you add in Lamar Odom and Ron Artest for the Lakers, to me that tips the scales decidedly in their favor.
According to the poll, we got a chance! A real chance! Rockets: 2011 Champions. You heard it here first. Book it. --ClutchFans
Kobe is Kobe.. Their BC wins especially with the clutch shooting of Fisher and now Blake as a backup. We all might hate Fisher and thinks he sucks, but he is to them what Lowry is to us.. Pau > Scola.
Again, I am assuming Yao is 100% which I admit is a big if. My statement is more about my faith in Scola than anything else. As far as the rest of the Lakers frontline, I agree it is better. I just think a series between the two teams is more about Yao, Scola vs. Gasol, Bynum than it is about Ron or Mr. kardashian vs Shane and Chase.
