Unfair thing was to lock Sengun up in the bench last season. You guys played DANIEL THEIS while tanking. Sengun (barely speaking English/ living in a new country as a teenager) would have shown the same production as Banchero last season if he was given a REAL chance. Tell me about how Silas wasted him.
He does play in American way, simple. Selfish, not passing. And also he played last year with real PGs mainly (D.J., Dennis) Few days ago he tipped 3 rebounds and stayed 1 reb short from double-double. Next game he was fighting with his teammate for getting the reb. He was assisting a lot last year to Josh before realizing Christopher's selfishness and stopped to pass him.He continued to pass KMJ,D.J.Augustine and Schroeder later on as they were collaborating.. KPJ does 5.4 asissts per game. I don't know how many he does for Alpi, third highest scorer in this team. So how many assists you expect from Alpi to KPJ? The first thing they teach in a normal Turkish family is: " Don't cheat anyone before they try to harm you". But the second teach is : " Never forget anyone betrayed you and punish them if possible". Alperen comes from the same school.
Probably would have gone better if you compared Alpy to Jalen Duren or Walker Kessler. Whats next Sengun is a more impactful player than Evan Mobley or Chet Holmgren?

Banchero is producing 22 PPG and was the #1 pick. I get people are high on their boy right now but lets not take it too far. Sengun was an undisciplined mess last year both defensively and offensively. The reason he's doing well now is that he's more assertive and he's taking care of the ball as well as staying out of foul trouble for the most part.
I guess he was more like Hermann Hesse's Lonewolf rather than undisciplined. European mentality is to fight for every ball, every second. He is more Yankee now, get easy, there is always another ball, another game. Don't force. And also not getting rookie calls also help.

Sengun wasn't the same player last year, he's grown a lot that has helped him stay on the floor. I agree that Daniel Thesis was a monsterous mistake and Sengun could have gotten more PT, but the idea that he was wasted and didn't get a chance is silly. He's doing what he is doing because of the coaching staff, not in spite of them.
Its like a crowd at a boy band concert. Could have stopped at the "advanced stats after 8 games" point and rested on their laurels, but they needed even more of an ego boost and went hunting for the #1 overall pick and ignorantly tried to compare two different archetypes who play nothing alike!
Come on this is silly Banchero was a number 1 pick for a reason, pretty much everyone would trade Sengun for Banchero, and that is not a knock on Sengun at all who is really stepping up this year. DD
