no way??!?! they've never won a series??? wow how has the media NOT picked up on this? oh that's right, that's all they ever talk about, thanks for the reminder...kill joy
I vote Yao over TMac. Tmac has been inconsistent on the scoring end, but we've seen this before, its no surprise. However Yao, as mentioned by many, looks like he's a rookie in the NBA. he looks lost. A major surprise because we believe that Yao would come back and dominate.
You are the biggest dissapointment thus far. Any fan that isn't ecstatic, that this team, without Battier, without it's big three in sync, without SF3, without Yao and Tmac at 100%, without a true PG, without so much is still 4-3. Look, 4-3 is respectable, and, we've shown some of the big teams we will be able to hold our own. Boston is scared sh!tless that we get our **** together. True, we got squashed by LA, but as so many have said, that team has it together right now, we'll be there, and I'm not disappointed at all.
It really came to a head 4th quarter of the Portland game though it's shown in all, comes up every year: Tracy needs to notice that there are others on the team. Let them help.
To me, it's the coaching staff. Yes, Yao has looked like dog crap lately. Yes, McGrady seems to put more emphasis on making his limp as pronounced as possible than playing like a $21 million a year player. Yes, Ron is new in town and there's gonna be some growing pains. But to have ABSOLUTELY NO consistent energy, focus, intensity, or game plan on the defensive end and toward rebounding is unacceptable. Those are the things that should be keeping you in and winning games early on in the season while you build the chemistry. And for the starters to run an offense which seems to consist solely of 1 of the 3 stars taking turns posting up on the block is ridiculous.
Agree, Wouldn't blame the players for a system that clearly doesn't play to thier strengths. Poor minute allocation, poor lineup management. I am not very happy with Adelman atm.
Artest, even though he has made a few HUGE momentum changing 3's, still has me wondering. Coming in to this season, I was hoping for another post presence to compliment Yao. And he leads the team in 3 pointers taken? WTF? We lost last year against Utah mainly because of a lack of post presense, not because we didn't have enough 3 point shooters. But I voted T-Mac. 1 for his last 16. Really? I'm a huge TMac supporter, but wow, he looks utterly lost. I HOPE it is his knee. He is still too young to have completely lost all his abilities.
How about everyone. If it was one guy we would be fine but the whole offense is struggling and Rockets need some changes soon, reminds me a little bit of last season when we had six straight losses and that nasty game against 76ers.
how is artest in the clear is beyond me? dude is shooting 33% overall. playing great defense is fine. alston plays good defense most of the time, but we all kill him for his shooting. artest is the only star HEALTHY right now. and he shoots just as bad as rafer, and his finishing ability is rafer-like in the paint.
he shows leadership skills, he's relentless on D, he's guarding multiple players, he's howling at the crowd, he's running into other players to make sure his big man is ok, he's keeping the team from losing by 50 points
That's another thing that's preturbed me with him. I'd think you'd want to play Yao for 6-7 minute spurts instead of 18 minute spurts (assuming he doesn't get in to foul trouble) and having him be the last of the three stars to get a blow. The whole world, much less the coach, knows that there's a point of diminishing returns with Yao and his minutes. And those diminishing returns tend to make Yao a liability.
it's also disturbing that our 2 stars this PAST WEEK says, and i quote, "i have played the 2 worst games of my career." that's not good. hopefully, it'll pass by. we've seen them dominated this year so they can't clearly just lose all their abilities.
ron's at a pretty blistering 42.5% from downtown. its when he's not shooting 3's that his numbers drop. add to that the fact that he goes all out on defense and leaves everything on the court, i can't fault artest's passion, even if i might fault his play at times. yao and tmac, meanwhile, are absolutely embarrassing and don't look like they're giving half of what ron's giving. i've heard the excuse that they're still recovering from injuries, so they can't give 100%. if that's the case, they need to sit out until they are at least healthy enough to run up and down for a full game of basketball without looking like someone stole their engines. neither is being a hero by playing through pain, because they are both playing like crap. to quote high school musical, get your head in the game!
his defense hasn't been that dominant to prevent us from sucking completely on D. therefore, it can't excuse his beyond pathetic offensive production. and HE'S FULLY HEALTHY.
he's not hakeem, but at least he's giving hakeem effort every game, unlike the other two of the big three.
i don't doubt his effort. i never said ron is the worst of the 3 right now. i'm just saying ron is not facing any double teams. he's getting the secondary defender on him most of the time and all he is doing is jacking up shots. his post up game is ugly right now. his ability to finish around the rim is just as bad as rafer. and he's shooting 33% overall (his open 3pt shooting is very good though). and as much as people claim tracy holds onto the ball a lot, he holds it onto the ball longer whenever he isos. i'm not doubting his effort. but offensively, he's stinking it up worse than the other 2 stars, MUCH worse.
The big three is what's wrong. I love the Rockets and all but they're messing things up. Yao- Still scared to dunk, he was outplayed in 2 out of the last 3 games. If they can't find a way to get him to play better, then there is no reason to keep him there. T-Mac- WTH, 5 points in 2 games is something Dorsey should be doing not him. He is the backbone of the team and so far he is playing like crap. Yes, he may not be fully healed, yes he might be playing through pain.....He should still come out and do way better then that. Artest- Defensive threat? Roy hit the game winner on him....He didnt even bother to fuggin jump....Al he had to do is jump straight up or even raise his hand. He did nothing but stand there....And these stupid shots he tried to take when he messes up...what is he thinking? Yes, we should love the aggressiveness. But he should start playing smarter. Outside the Big Three Rafer- What the fug is wrong with him. He can't make a shot. He is playing like him and Wafer should switch depth chart spots. All he has to do is start the offense and score a little. He can't even do that. Landry- What has he done? Nothing....He sparked a little vs the Lakers. other then that, what has he done? Nothing. He is supposed to dunk alot. He has done nothing. Yall say let him start? Let me know why. The Key to our wins Brooks- A spark off the bench. When he comes in he lights it up. He shoots the three ball well. He attacks the rim alot. He gets assists. He is a hustler. He is showing why the Rockets gave him the back up pg spot. Scola- He is doing most of the work. He gets down and hustles. He runs the fast break. He shoots the 2ball well. He even draws some fouls. He is doing very well. They should have him i nthe most improved conversation along with brooks. What we need right now We need Battier now. Send Artest to the bench so he can think about who should be defended in what way. We need another C. Not saying it should be Deke, not saying it shouldnt be Deke. They work scola and hayes too hard at that position. Why not go and get Wilcox? We also need to get rid of Head and Francis in a package deal for somebody. I also think that Wafer should get some playing time. He can take Head's third string spot. At least he isnt scared t odunk on someone. You can agree, you can disagree. It's not one persons fault, it's all of thier faults.
