Yeah he said that last night on NBA Fastbreak or whatever and I was just like "wow what a ridiculously stupid comment" If you are gonna say Tmac and Yao aren't great defensively don't say as opposed to Wade/Shaq. Especially since that was Shaq in his watered-down years. But whatever some people get paid just because they are expected to know more than the average person.
Mike James. I really thought he would provide 20 solid minutes off the bench with 3pt shooting to space the floor and some drives to the basket. I was hoping for 10-12 points a game from him. It seems like his jumper has abandoned him and seems like he is not meshing well in Adelman's offense where he is not effective without the ball. I am sure he is on the fast track to be traded. As for Francis, I am not disappointed in him because I didn't expect much from him. I think he is threw. At least he is on a vet min contract.
man combined with legler's center rating thing (Oden over Yao????), it obviously wasn't a shining moment in NBA Fastbreak history.
Junior was jinxed when he came to "the land where baseball players go to fail" (believe me as a Reds fan I am perplexed at the number of players that are good before they get here or are good after we trade them - You have no idea how hard it is to be a sports fan in Cincinnati) Tmac has done well in Houston... at least he's gotten to the playoffs and taken it as far as he could in each series they played here. Could he do better
Yao, due to the fact that this was suppossed to be the year he definitively made himself the best center in the world. He got surpassed and has declined his production and shooting. Yao has plateued and it saddens me.
Anyone on here who voted for Francis is living in the past. He was not expected to be a life saver when he signed, you would know that if you had seen him play in the past few seasons. Steve doesnt have a phat contract, so basically we got him for free. Mike "Ballhog" James on the other hand needs to go. He is too dumb to understand this system and does what his instincts tell him to do. He keeps jacking it up thinking eventually he will get hot. Rox need to trade him, because we already have too many guards and he isn't a fit put him out of his misery. At least we can say Francis has played a very important part in winning a couple of games we most likely would of lost. I voted for TMac cus he has done diddly with his $20 million contract.
TMAC 1. still no leadership, no heart. 2. lazy offense and zero defense. 3. wasnt playing within the team. too much ballhogging. 4. not getting his teammates involved. becoming an anti-Adelman player. 5. getting paid most but delievered less wins than anybody else. 6. Suspections: forcing trades, faking injury, iso.. Yao, SF hating, JVGism ....
WTF does it feel good to be right?! Wouldn't you rather have SF kicking ass, which in turn makes the ROCKETS kick ass?
lol ... I don't think I know my stuff, but thanks for the compliment. I think everyone has to begin to wonder if the TMac/Yao combo is going to work, and I sorta doubt it'll go past this year. It is always something, isn't it? TMac has got to decide that this is his last stop to achieve a championship, and step up to the plate. I think he was starting to do that at the beginning of the year, but got discouraged when it took so long for everyone to "get it." As Feigen says, "TMac is moody," and therein lies the problem. TMac has as much talent as anyone ever has in the NBA, but doesn't seem to have the mental discipline of the great ones, ala Jordan, Magic or Bird. Yao and TMac did well with JVG's discipline, both for different reasons. It will be interesting to see if Adelman's freedom works here. I think it will eventually, but I'm not sure it'll bring us a champion. My comments weren't so directed at you, as much as getting tired of all the knee-jerk panic scapegoating that goes on around here, that isn't based on knowledge, but emotional venting. It isn't very intelligent, and these boards were built on the enjoyment of people collaborating and brainstorming what was going on as fans, comparing notes. All the panic or scapegoating posts kill intelligent interaction.
James has been the biggest disappointment. He had a great first week and has sucked ever since. T-Mac is a close second. I'm willing to be patient and give him the benefit of the doubt when he returns next week from the knee injury, but with the team actually winning consistently without him, the pressure is on him to mesh with the rest of his teammates in Adelman's system. Francis has been almost a complete waste aside from the Suns game, but since he was such a low risk acquisition, it's hard to call him the biggest disappointment.
I expect Tmac to get hurt but he has played poorly after the good start...Mike James I knew would hurt us with his awesome ball hogging skills...Steve Francis I expected to run the office with poise and experience but he has not done so and fallen real short of my expectations Is he hurt?
T-Mac. I (naively) thought his past injuries had more to do with him having to work so hard to get his shots/points in the JVG grind-it-out-offense than they did with him actually being injury-prone. I thought the new offense would get him away from jacking up off-balance jumpers with 20 seconds left on the shot clock and turn him back into the attacking force he was in Orlando. I was wrong on both counts. I didn’t expect much from Mike James. His stats went down DRAMATICALLY after signing with Minnesota. To me, this was a red flag. I didn’t expect much from him, but I also didn’t think he’s be warming the pine at this point in the season. I had no expectations for Francis either. His stats have been falling and injuries mounting since the first year after we traded him. He’s pretty much done and I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t play at all for the rest of the season. Everyone else on the list is playing at about the level I expected.
tmac deserves it, because of how often he disappoints me. ill go with the bandwagon and say james. considering how badly we could have used him last season, and that he is the only one of the 'dissapointing ones' making real money. i expect morey to move him again.
I had to go with T-Mac (although Battier's lack of offensive production has been troubling). I never expected much from James (unlike most on this board), he just doesn't fit into the team game. I also didn't think SF would provide much. I really hoped both would give something, but never expected it. I'm with others that worry about T-mac's injuries. When healthy and playing with heart, he's in the top 5 in the league. Right now, I'm not sure where he falls.
Every vote in this thread should be for Mike James. He is the only person, who when on the court, has performed terribly in comparison to what was expected by the majority of the organization and its fans. Tracy still plays well when he's healthy. Steve was a question mark coming in and has at least played some inspired ball when healthy. Mike James has been perfectly healthy all season and has flat out sucked after about he first 4 or 5 games.
Mike James without a doubt...he has played soo horribly in his time hes gotten its unfathomable....i really thought hed be a key figure in the offense..but im glad that luther head is getting more playing time
