AB breaking down the defense and dishing a bounce pass to a cutting Landry for the dunk! (I like risks)
depends on who the opposing team has on the floor, technically. i'd think under many circumstances a mcgrady-yao p&r will be our bread and butter.
Other - The best open shot, this lineup (Alston-T-Mac-Battier-Scola-Yao) Alston penetration T-Mac penetration Battier Open 3pt Scola open jumper Yao on the post
we have numerous players capable of making big shots when given a good look.. depends on the defense and who's open, but definitely it should start with tmac and yao
It's clear to me watching the games that T-Mac is saving himself for the playoffs. In crunch time in the important games he will drive, and even if he doesn't make the shot he will draw the foul.
i want the best, most open shot. if it means rafer shooting a 3 so be it. or hayes underneath for a layup. or scola shooting a 15 ftr. i rather have someone shooting whatever they are comfortable with as long as their open as the final shot. even if they miss i can live with that...sometimes they dont fall. over like rafer trying to drive for a tear drop...tmac hoisting over 3-4 guys...yao being rushed into a fadeaway..bonzi shooting a long jumper etc etc personally I would love to see Novak hit a 3 FTW.
Can you remember the last time Tracy missed a free throw with 1 minute left in the game? T-Mac makes the big ones. Ever since his two in 04 to send the Rockets to overtime against the Clippers. He's amde them plenty of times.
He missed a couple FTs late in a recent game. The Rockets won, but had to endure another defensive possession.
A chuck hayes open three! Seriously though, Tmac to the rack. He won that lakers game a while ago. In close 2nd would be Yao overpowering, but if he misses it and gets fouled, he doens't always get the call.
tmac has been our clutchest player this year when he has played. yao is prone to turnovers in the 4th. tmac can get his own shot or create a shot for somebody else.
It seems like T-mac still has the ability to still drive which is the best option but he's just crusing right now. I sure hope he plans on turning it up for the playoffs not just offensively but defensively also.
#1, Tmac to the rim, if he doesn't have a terrible shooting night #2, Yao's hook shot, if he secures interior position to catch the pass #3, Novak/Head/Battier/Rafer's 3-pointer, whoever is on the court and open #4, Tmac's jump shot after P&R with Yao #5, Yao's jump shot #6, Scola's jump shot or to the rim Hopefully, in the future, Brooks and Landry to the rim.
McGrady drives down the lane and draws multiple defenders and dishes it out to Novak for a 3! Well, it worked once...
As much as Tmac has "fallen" since the year we got him... I'd still put my faith in Tmac's hands when it's crunch time. We've seen what the guy can do and he has the most talent out of all our guards. Seems like his specialty has been shooting those long jumpers as of late. So why not let him do his thang.
