Wesley's shot has been horrific and his defense has gone down hill. He played well for us last season, but if he doesn't hit his shot, then he isn't much use.

I wanted him gone (and said so many times) in the off-season, but no team is crazy enough to give up any real talent/prospects for this guy, but the good news is his contract expires following this season.

    Meanwhile, give Spree a call...

Wesley is done. Every minute he plays instead of Head is wasted.

Yeah, I just dont see anything positive from Wesley at this point...his defense, no matter how sound it is, does not make up for his offensive shortcomings...I think Luther deserves his minutes, simply because Luther atleast has speed, quickness, and, right now, a better shot and is more of a threat offensively...however, if we do/are going to trade Wesley, we better do so soon before teams starting seeing how truly ineffective he's become...

His defense, so far, has been much like the rest of the team's: crappy.

He just lost what he had last season, and I think Head would be at least a more sound offensive player AND will learn how to play defense/compete the more he's out there. Give the hungry young fella a chance to prove himself, JVG, and don't second guess him too much or pull him out everytime he makes a mistake, or otherwise he won't learn.

ALL OF THEM SUCKED TONIGHT INCLUDING JVG.

The disturbing thing is that they look like they're going to suck again...

Alright, one execption. Head played well.

Exactly. My first mental reaction was to cut Wes down to 10 minutes a game or less (he played 29 tonight), but just before I made my first post in this thread I started thinking... Who else is going to take his minutes with TMac out? The only available realistic option is Head, so I think the optimal situation here would be to take 10 minutes away from Wesley and give them to Head. This way we still give Wesley some opportunities to get out of his shooting slump (3-5 shots a game instead of 8-10) and we don't completely alienate him by cutting his minutes too far back. Head then gets 10 extra minutes of floor-time to learn and hopefully continue to wow us with his ability.

So using this game as a template for how things will be w/o TMac, I'd do this:

Wesley (29 min down to 19 min)
Head (13 min up to 23 min)

Are we working out some sort of Fantasy Basketball trade here??? Your math has me confused, you're taking away 6 minutes from another player (Head/Wesley combined for 42 min vs. NO)

Wesley's shot has not fallen since playoffs last year. He is too slow to defend many but the slowest NBA guards. He creates no matchup advantages (at 6'0"), he cannot shoot, and he is easy to defend. Recall how poorly he did against the back court in playoffs with Dallas. They smoked us.

The best we can hope for is very limited- amped up minutes where he could provide some aggressive energy when the opponent is tired. At end of season his contract is up. 5 mil will be paid to Wesley this season. Unfortunate.....

Bring in Sprewell, bench Wesley and trade him at the deadline.

Hell, bring in Dion Glover off the IR. He has to be able to do more out there than what Wesley is providing. We have to face it. Wesley has lost about 8 steps since the surgery. Not only is he in the biggest shooting slump since Nick Anderson, he is quite often getting beat on defense. He's a good guy and a good team player, but he is not helping this team win.

Haha! Yah I saw that during one of the breaks last night, it was funny.

The TC was rocking last night, my section was cheering like crazy, although there were more than a few annoying NOLA fans (we kind of made fun of them throughout the game only to have the Rockets collapse like that towards the end, so thanks guys  )
