i've done some pretty hard partying this weekend and it's definitely catching up with me. what really sucks is that i have a TON of studying and homework to do, and am seriously depressed about having to take 4 tests this week. what's more is that the outcome of one of those tests will practically determine whether or not i graduate this august.......  :(

    wish me luck.

I'm just sitting here listening to Phil Hendrie and sipping a Heinie. Going back and forth between the bbs and my fantasy baseball league. I'm in first place by 8 games but I've go to shore up my pitching staff. I keep winning the batting catagories but losing the pitching ones. God, I've turned into a fantasy dork!

Getting ready for a looong day at work tomorrow.

Good luck bud...that's why I'm not taking summer classes. :p

I'm spending my 4th relaxing and enjoying the fact that I am off of work tonight. That, and checking the BBS in desperate hope that some free agent news will break. :D

I spent close to 10 hours working today and don't feel like doing a damn thing. I just picked up some food from Johnny Carino's. I'm going to watch a Seinfeld repeat and listen to the annoying fireworks i'll have to put up with for the next 4 or 5 hours.

Not to sound like an annoying old fart, but...

Holy Jesus, what I wouldn't give to go back to the time in my life when these kinds of problems were the only kinds of problems I faced!

If I didn't know any better I would think this thread started on a French BBS.

My Great Grandfather trekked 22 miles one way to see the annual 4th of July bonfire ~ back then fireworks were the stuff of legend like salt or the magical wheel. The Karankawa indians he battled during his journey made our white trash mullet annoyances seem tame -- and you better believe those indians didn't support the concept of freedom or bonfires. In fact the Karankawa would make water balloons out of the hides of alligators and pelt the freedom fire in hopes it would be put out. But just like America itself that fire had a will to burn and burn it did - alligator water balloons be damned.

My Great Grandfather's dying wish was that that fire continue to burn in the hearts of all Americans -- i'm sure we will all do our best...

I stayed at home and it was actually kind of cool. As I was putting my son to sleep around 9 I could hear the fireworks being shot off around the neighborhood. I noticed the light from the explosions coming from his window, so instead of making him go to sleep I put 2 pillows on the floor and we watched the occasional firework light up the sky. He's about 2 and this was his first time seeing them. He fell asleep on the floor after about 20 minutes.

It was a great father/son moment for me, but it sucks that it's one of those so early in his life that he'll likely forget it.

    Plans changed.

I decided to go out to the outdoor theater to watch fireworks with friends.

Scheduled to start at 9:30... didn't start until 10:35. Just got home and gotta wake up in 4.5 hours.

I hate public, community sponsored events.

Attention BBS brethren! Our very own drapg has left his house to do something other than go to work or run errands. Mark this day on your calendars!

Yeah, that ran really late. The Elenor Tinsley park fireworks were fantastic, though. There was a huge crowd there at Miller Theatre. You could see the cars snaking around all the way down Main St. I was at my in-laws in the Warwick Towers on the 22nd floor. Great view. You can see the whole city from their windows - over Pasadena to the east to the bay, the med center south, downtown northeast, montrose northwest, galleria area west. The conversation was good, if a little out-there funny. A lot of talk about spices. One of the guys is in the spice trade. They and their friends are very old. I do think I got permission to visit Thailand. :) Funny evening, with my wife and kids away on a seperate vaction.
