Makes you wonder what his major was at UT-Chattanooga. Is this man even safe to be hired at a regular 9 to 5 job like the rest of the workforce? Doubtful.
no doubt. . . But I found that factoid a bit strange . . I figure that is why his agent is doing no damage control T O will get a new contract . . . no matter what He will be waiver IMO at the end of the season someone will give him somethign near what he wants If I were the school . . I will give him no more than a 2 yr deal Rocket River
Any team that signs him better go with an incentive-driven contract. But that said, who exactly is a good fit? I can't see Parcells or Belichick wanting anything to do with him. The Ravens and 49ers are happy to see him eating up on karma. The Colts don't need him. Giants seem set with their offense, but are a maybe. I can't believe Owens goes to a team without an above average QB or a realistic shot at contending. Teams like Arizona, Jets, and us can forget about it. One team with a superstar QB that could use a top-3 reciever to stretch the field and push them over the top as title contenders? The Falcons. Evan
I'm no expert on NFL contract laws, but I think the Eagles should do the same thing that the Warriors did to Latrell Sprewell and fire the guy outright.
According to Article II. Clause 3 of the NFL Contract Rules You can execute a player on site, if failure to comply to rules and regulations is apparent. Take this at face value though, it's just what I've heard.
The Eagles have and keep do offering contracts. The newest one which they are hoping to work out is worth a little more than $5 million a year so it looks like it is working out pretty good for him if he doesn't want to take it well then that is on him. personally, I don't think he is worth Tomlinson money.
Oh oh oh...let me change that post above. Since Westbrook acted professionally he was awarded a 5 year deal worth $25 million and a $10 million signing bonus. Acting professionally Westbrook got what he wanted so it looks like it worked out pretty well for him, huh? http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=2215804
He may be doing this for the $$$ like some of you are asserting, but if he is then he is flat out stupid because he isn't going to get a bigger contract than he has now(If you factor in his fat, guaranteed money bonus, he is a top 5 wr in payscale, which is fair given the questions surrounding his character at the time), and he certainly isn't going to get a boatload of guaranteed money, which is what negotiating an NFL contract is all about. There's only one team in the league that I can see giving him a somewhat big contract, and that's the redskins. But that would have to meet with Gibbs approval and I'm not really sure anyone would green-light that signing even though it kind of fits with Snyder's mo. The only way possible that what he's doing is a smart move is if he just completely hates philly and wants out at all costs. But I don't give him that much credit. he's just a baby who doesn't know how to interact with adults.
Honestly. . . I feel this was done . . .because of TO bring attention to the team . . .more than them being fair and honest but either way . . .GOOD FOR WESTBROOK Rocket River
I think if TO got an incentive based contract based on performance then he'd complain about the qb not throwing him the ball enough.
no doubt he gotta go home, he's a straight b*tch...being a great player doesn't give you all the rights...I can't see his face anymore!
Plus, he's absolutely KILLING my Red Rover fantasy team... ...anyways, anybody that wants him gone from the league better not hold their breath. The NFL is going to ride this publicity wave as far as they can. Plus, he's still one of the best receivers in football, so there will ALWAYS be a team that wants him. Plus, and I'm not defending him, but when you think about the wife beaters, drug addicts, and convicted felons that have played for the NFL, is being an ******* really THAT bad?
