    I'm about to have one turkey pastrami sandwich with provelone cheese, lite mayo, and honey dijon mustard. One serving of Lays Santa Fe Ranch chips and a glass of water.

    That's 650 ****ing calories.

    Screw eating healthy. That's not a lot of food and it's that much...screw it.

    Lunch was Jack in the Box, 940 calories (and $2.14).

    Breakfast was a bowl of cereal, 160 calories.

    Two cokes, 330 calories.

    Total of 2080 calories...not bad, I guess.

    Screw eating healthy. Double cheeseburgers are good. Jumbo Jacks are good. Papa Johns is good. I may work out and lift, but I'll never give up my fast food.

    I used to eat like crap, but I exercised all the time, so it didn't have much of an appearance effect.

    I was always fairly big. When I weighted 197 lbs, I had 6% body fat. I lifted weights, and had naturally big legs. But, the last 4 years or so I've really slowed down, due to injuries (ankles, knees, shoulders, back), school, work, and a lack of people that actually do stuff around me.

    At the beginning of this year, I went in to renew my TDL (after getting a ticket for having an expired one). When I finally got the thing in the mail, I took a look at the photo, and couldn't believe it was me. I topped out at around 258. At 5'9", that is a lot of weight to be carrying around, even for a "big guy" like myself.

    Since, looking at that photo, I haven't had one fast-food burger this year. I still don't eat perfect, but I have managed to lose weight. I'm now at 228 and only about 10 pounds away from my goal. The cool thing is, I know I've probably gained 5 to 10 pounds from lifting weights over the past few months.

    I didn't join Jenny Craig, or Weight Watchers, or go on any diet. I just cut out the crap, and stopped going to buffets 6 times a week. Also, I don't drink regular sodas anymore. And, when we buy ground beef, it's the very lean stuff that costs twice as much as the stuff I used to buy. Eating healthy is definitely more expensive (and I'm pretty frugal), but it's a choice I needed to make.

    Now that I'm out of school, I'll be able to get a regular job and a regular workout schedule, and start to use that Bally's membership that I've had since forever.

    Okay, here is some info on The Blood Type Diet from the book Eat Right 4 Your Type ('4' as in the four blood types):

    From the back of the book jacket:
    "If you've ever suspected that not everyone should eat the same foods or do the same excercise, you're right. Your blood reflects your internal chemistry. It actually determines the way you absorb nutrients. What foods you absorb well and how your body handles stress differ with each blood type. Eat Right 4 Your Type will help you design a total health program that's right for your blood type."

    I've always wondered about why someone can eat one thing and be healthy, but someone else who eats the same thing cannot. My dad didn't live to see me graduate from high school. He grew up on an east Texas diet of meat and potatos and had lots of health problems. He never ate anything green until he was really sick, around the age of 50. It didn't help that he was also a smoker who didn't quit until after the second or so heart attack. My grandfather on my mother's side is 91, and he has a better social life than I do. He's got 3 girlfriends that I can think of off the top of my head and he goes dancing about 4-5 nights a week. He has always eaten healthy. All this just got me thinking when my dad died, wondering if I was predestined to the same fate. I knew that I was already better off than he ever was simply because I had always eaten healthy.

    This book/diet is based on the theory that certain blood types should eat certain foods due to the evolutionary process: It started with Type O, the oldest blood type, as a hunter a bajillion years ago, and as people evolved, so did blood types; when people started farming, over time the blood evolved to better accept the new diets, and Type A came along, then Type B, and then Type AB. A lot of this is based on scientific stuff, like Type O's having thinner blood, and are thus less prone to cardiovascular disease, while Type A's (my blood type and my mom's and dad's) blood is thicker, and thus more prone to clotting and all the rest of the stuff associated with cardiovascular disease.

    Obviously, the book goes into greater detail. I'm happy with it so far, but I must admit that I do leave room for cheating. The book says that even if you cheat every once in awhile, that's okay. But like I said, I've never eaten much red meat (which isn't good for Type A's anyway), and I've always eaten a lot of vegetables and fruit, so my transition to this diet has probably been much easier for me than for someone like chlorestoral boy...err....Rocketman95. ;)

    For awhile I was eating nothing but organic foods, drinking distilled water and all, then I read somewhere that if you just breathe really deeply through your belly and laugh with your belly that you'll live a long healthy life. The more you relax your belly and let it stick out(even if it looks like you have a tapeworm in it) the longer, happier, and healthier your life will be. You can smoke, drink, or whatever but the key is to not pressur your bellys natural posture with your abdomen muscles at anytime. I've been imitating ole' Saint Nicks posture pretty much ever since and it's worked out great so far.

    Kinda along the lines of this blood Type theory, I heard you should eat what your ancestors ate? Kinda wierd being that we have better food nowadays and knowledge of it...but alright, beans and tortillas here I come!

    It's exactly 'along those lines.' According to the book, blood types evolved according to the diet changes of people. I referred to Type O's as hunters because they do well on high-protein diets of lean red meats, whereas Type A's do better on a more agrarian diet of little-to-no red meat: mostly fish, poultry, and high begetable content diets. (I don't know too much about Types B and AB because I'm Type A, and I never bothered to read about them. The book does talk extensively about Type O at the beginning due it being the oldest blood type from which the others evolved.)

    its all cardio...you need to get it up(your heartrate:p ) at least 2-3 hours a week and you'll see a difference in less than a month...of course that doesn't give you a license to eat twice as much food,but some people take it like that and see less results.
    one cliche that always sticks in my head is a good tip for moderate eating: "Eat to live...don't live to eat."

    Chemically, I wonder how having A,B, or AB antigens or antibodies against any of these have any effect on the utilization of nutrients. I just don't see it. Maybe any immunologists out there might have the downlow on any recent studies done on this. anybody...anybody...Bueller...Bueller...:D

    Man, it'd take me forever to write all this out, and I just don't have the patience. Next time you're at a bookstore, just check it out for yourself. There are three books: Eat Right 4 Your Type, Live Right 4 Your Type, and Cook Right 4 Your Type.
