He reminds me of a young Pete Chilcutt. Except that he is stronger, quicker, jumps higher, blocks more shots, dribbles better, rebounds better, scores better and has a better tan. Mr. B
Good take, O-dawg. (you should post more!) However, Dream played with great passion in his early years that we haven't seen in Eddie ... yet. Sometimes I wonder if he's playing so cool and in control because he wants to show everyone he's not the hothead that was bandied about when he was drafted. Dream had quite a temper for several years, as we know. I keep thinking that one day Eddie is just going to blow up, shock the League, and take a whole hell of a lot of pressure off Ming (and everyone else). With luck, it'll happen this season. A bunch of writers are gonna have to eat crow, and I hope they choke on the feathers.
Come on, you have got to be kidding. Rasheed has more range then our own Eddie. He shot 36% from three point line last year. KG shot 32%. Rasheed also made more then KG. If Eddie turns out to be like Rasheed (plus defense) he will win league MVP at least a couple of times. Rasheed is probably one of the most underrated players in the league. If the dude had a brain he could easily be one of the top five in the league.
I've seen you say he could easily be top 5 a few times, but would disagree. Definitely top 10 though. 1.Shaq 2.McGrady 3.Kobe 4.Duncan 5.KG?
I always say could be for one reason. The man would fail first grade. I havent seen so much talent go to waste in all of my life. His inside game is probably only behind that of Shaq and Duncan. His outside game is probably best in the league for a 4 or a 5. He is not a ball hog. His rebounding and scoring numbers would be much much better if he didnt have to share the ball with so many other stars. If he actually played without getting pissed off at every whistle the guy would destroy his competition. If he ever gets out of that hell hole called Portlands locker room the man would have MVP type numbers. So I base my could be ranking on him developing some sort of a brain and getting out of Portland. Then his name could be mentioned with Shaq, Duncan and Kobe.
Some of you may disagree and many of you too young to remember, but Eddie reminds me of Larry Nance( former Sun and Cavalier I believe). Same height, size, demeanor. Eddie has more range. Overall, which is a given, Eddie will be a very good player for a long time. If he were a featured guy on another team, he probably would be considered a superstar. Time will tell. I'm just glad he's here.
Well there are some rumors, which Kevin McHale does not deny, of trading KG. One of the possibilities was something like Rasheed & Bonzi for KG...
Now I have to disagree with you. Dream was physically complete the day he stepped on to an NBA court. Remember he spent four years playing against Moses at Fonde before he was ever drafted. The only centers that I ever saw frustrate Dream physically in his first couple of years was Malone (sometimes), Mark Eaton (regularly), Billy Paultz (once in the play offs) and Mo Lucas (when he was with the Lakers) . Eaton was the only one to do it consistantly. Dream was very strong for a man his size when he came into the league. Dream was a great one on one defender in the paint when he came into the league. He got tons of steals guarding his man one on one in the paint and could block his man straight up or from the weak side. Dream was the perfect defensive player during his first few years in the league.
I expect that Griff, will be such a star that he will be OTIS THORPE AND RALPH SAMPSON rolled into one!He will be a player with the quality character of Hakeem. A quiet, agile, athletic scorer and shotblocker. In 2005 his stats per............. game............pts.20. rbs12. bl. 4.0 IMHO
