I would like to face the Denver Nuggets in the first round and the Golden State Warriors in the next.
I could really care less which team they play. Chances are that they will play a better team win/loss wise, so we probably won't have an advantage. I wouldn't mind a Suns/Rockets matchup since both are sort of newcomers to the playoffs. If they do happend to play the Lakers,Kings, etc, they have a chance to suprise some people. If they get swept, that may help catapult the team into becoming a great team. When watching the other team step it up, the Rockets should try to emulate it. And they certainly would have some desire to get farther into the playoffs the following season. Oops...went on a bit much...talking about nothing...oh well.
Don't care who we face as long as we have home court Honestly, I'd love for the Rockets to face the Kings. Then it would give me the dilemma to actually pay big bucks from a scalper to watch the Rox at Arco!!
first- Suns- watching starbury fall in a blaze of his own shots second-Twolves- 20 12 and 10 what more do you want? enough cap room to sign someone else Kevin third- Spurs-The Admiral is too old to guard Yao and Tony is too gullible to guard steve, our only concern( and it is a big one) is Timmmmyyyyy
This team is not gonna make it to playoffs this season. Damn... we even lose to Clippers TWICE and Grizzlies. Don't dream on Rockets taking down Lakers, Kings, or Maverics YET.
Although I'm disapointed in the team's performances against those teams, that doesn't mean they won't make the playoffs. I was skimming through other possible lower west teams and noted some of their losses. (didn't keep track of everything, just a quick skim of the losses.) Minnesota has lossed to the Clips. Portland has lossed to the Nuggets. Phoenix has lossed to Denver, Golden State, and Memphis. Utah has lossed to Atlanta. Seattle has lossed to Memphis and NY. I didn't even bother checking the Lakers losses. Just know that this is a young team and is still learning how to play consistently. While they may lose to the Clipps and Grizz, they will also beat the Spurs and Kings. Sooner or later, they should start beating both. That could be very soon and help take us to the playoffs. Just keep hope...and keep in longer in the playoffs. BTW, as for playing those elite teams you mentioned in the playoffs, I don't expect much. I hope they can stay competitive and maybe even win a game, but I think it will be a lesson for the team. I think Kenyon Martin learned how to step his game up, something he didn't think he could do, after last year's NJ run. Maybe our team can as well.
While everyone is talking about who the Rockets want to meet, I'm sure every team in the West is saying the same thing: .we don't want to play Houston. That said, I think the Rockets will be lucky to win one series and will not win two. Not this year. But just playing some playoff ball will make them that much better next season
Philadelphia. I think the Rockets could take them in 5 easy and it would mean the rockets were in the finals.
I would love to see the rox play the Lakers or Mavs I want to play a good team so that we can get some National T.V. and we can gain a lot of respect. If we make it to the playoffs the skys the limit we would have nothing to lose. I think that we will be the most feared team nobody wants to face playoff time. WE have a 7"5 guy with game and Francis is one of the best players in the nba. Cat can be a scoring machine, Griff is coming of age so I think we should not worry about who we play other teams should worry about us... Dont sleep on the Houston Rockets!!!!!!
Wow. Some of you seem to be forgetting that it is LIKELY that the Lakers will not make the playoffs this season. They were on the decline last season and won't be around to play in May. Also, it is no lock that the Rockets will even make the playoffs. Dallas, Sacramento, and Sacramento will all get in, then we have to worry about Phoenix, Seattle, Portland, Utah, and Minnesota. We will need to win some key games against these teams if we want to make the playoffs.
First, are you sure you don't mean Steve Francis? At least Marbury knows how to run an offense...talk about throwing up shots and hogging the ball, your man is Allan I...no it's Steve Francis.
