And this whole forum is tired of your stupid posts. If you enjoy consistent mediocrity so much, why not go be a fan of the Kings?
I believe that video didn’t have his full reach adjusted. The vertec tests can be fudged a bit. They will lower the reach height to make it look like verts are higher. He’s a good leaper, you can see it in hip height but he’s not a 49” vert guy. That is super elite
In a vacuum, Banchero seems like an outstanding player and I would be happy to have him. However, in our circumstances, I have a hard time envisioning how you build an elite offensive and defensive team around a core of Green and Banchero, with our options going forward. Its also hard to see how anyone else on the roster would fit in a simultaneous top10 offensive / defensive team. Lets assume we get Banchero, assume we get a guy like Branham at #17, and maybe a guy like Kel'el Ware at pick #8 next year. If I start trying to build a contending team with cap space next offseason, this is the best I can come up with: Sign Pat Beverly, Myles Turner, Steven Adams and Lu Dort. Beverly / Christopher / Nix Green / Matthews / Branham Dort / Nwaba / Tate Banchero / Sengun / Garuba Turner / Adams / Ware Is that a Championship Caliber roster? I think it could certainly be a very good team, but I don't know if it is championship caliber.
You made a lot of moves and somehow made the team worse than it would be if it was the obvious Sengun Banchero Martin/Mathews/17th pick Green KPJ
@D-rock Banchero is your Aaron Gordon you've been wanting for years bro with a little less defense lol
If we just look at what we can for sure justify. Sharpe has a standing reach of 8’7.50” With a max vert of 49” that would put his max reach at 12’ 8.5” or 3.5” short of the top of the NBA backboard. There’s a 24” box in the video for reference and his feet aren’t more than double the height, even though it’s difficult to tell. He’s a strong leaper, but I’d say he’s closer to 40” than 49”
This pretty much confirmed what I was saying yesterday, Jabari is #1 magic have zone in on picking him. So we do have a consensus number 1.
I thought the same thing and I've actually measured verticals before as a former trainer (if that adds anything at all)
With Green and Banchero defensive struggles don’t seem to have anything to do with physical limitations. It’s a combination of effort and instinct. I do believe with the right coach and the right team both can be above average defenders. Every team can use a PJ tucker kind of player and a rim protector - both can be role players. in the end I believe you look for offensive super star traits first and worry about defense later.
Much less defense. And I was a huge Banchero proponent when I was stumping for Mobley at this time last season. I'm a sucker for long 2 way skilled players with elite upside on defense. That elite defensive upside is the key however. Especially critical when the team is so horrid defensively.
we are just so lucky to be at least 3rd pick ! We win here to be honest ! I trust our scouting department! They absolutely killed the draft last year ! I would be ecstatic with banchero ! He will only get better ! If you wanna be great you will improve on your weaknesses ! Just look at all greens improvements on defense ! And when you have someone who is special and sets the example then it will push the others
Banchero by the way isn’t Julius randel or Aaron Gordon lol that reminds me of Jalen green being Cory brewer ! Banchero is banchero ! He has much more upside then they both had
