So when Morey calls Toronto about Bosh and they say "We want Budinger and/or Hill to start with" what does Morey say or do?
I really wouldn't trade neither of them, they both got a bright future, but if I have to choose I'll go with Hill, bcuz Budinger is our SF in the future.
I promise you i am trying to make sense because i hate stupid posts as well. Ok let's say you have a tangerine, and you squeeze 90% of the juice out of it. You have a nice cold 6 oz glass of juice. You have a juicy Starkist Orange that you have squeezed 5% of the juice out of. You only have a 2 oz glass of juice. Do you drink the 6 oz glass and dump the 2 oz glass and the Orange? Or do you keep squeezing?
I'm a pragmatic guy; I operate on knowns. I know Chase gives us 8 and 3 in a solid backup role (17-6-3 starting 4 games), and is efficient (44% field, 37% three). I know he can't drive, but runs the floor well on breaks and moves well without the ball. I know his defense is tolerable. I don't know terribly much about Hill. We get 7-5 from him, but his production can swing wildly - especially his rebounding. I know he hasn't rung up anyone for 20 yet, despite having a keen knack for flipping the ball in at close range. I watch Hill and see a guy that *could* destroy teams if he realizes his potential. But I have no clue if that happens. I don't know if he's a Stro Swift in disguise. I don't know how professional he is in his work habits. For the moment, if I have to side with someone, I hold onto Chase - Bird in the hand, two in the bush and all that. But I agree with DD - I hold tight onto both of them if at all possible. I'd also consider who we're trading for: if it's a backcourt guy, I hold on tighter to Hill. If it's a Bosh, I'm more willing to move Hill.
The question is this. How are you qualified to make the statement that Chase has hit 90% of his potential? How do you know that? Are you a NBA scout? How is he different from any other rookie that is playing well? You improve...that's what happens. And you use Chuck Hayes as an example. Chuck can't shoot. His offense won't improve...he's a 6'6 center. How is that a decent comparison to Budinger?
I agree, all of these trade ideas, and polls about who we would rather give up, well each individual trade idea is different, budinger and hill are both expendable IF they bring in true recognized talent, no point in trading away 2 prospects for new prospects, we'd just have to go through the same thing. The point is, I am willing to trade either of them, if we get something worth while in return. I don't know what this team needs, and I don't think anyone will until they see how Yao returns.
You laugh, and say, get back to me with a realistic offer, because Chris is leaving you anyway....so how about we get down to some real business. Then you Morey them. DD
You just simply keep Hill and trade Budinger if you have to keep only one. Hill is a big man, and has more potential, also there is a reason that Hill was selected at 8, and Budinger was selected at the second round, it is not hard to figure it out either.
neither Bud is our next Ray Allen Hill is our next beast in the post i bet of these two guys work hard and improve this summer, there will be no need for another trade if Yao is healthy to be continued...
most ppl kno that Bud was the better player at Arizona than Hill the fact that Bud slipped ALL the way to the 2nd is bafling to most scouts if u the reason Hill was drafted 8 was solely based off protential I understand him goin so much higher than Bud but its very suspicious as to why Chase was picked so late cuz he was a 1st round grade comin out I feel that it has to do with that hes white and I dont wana use the race card but thats the only logical explanation why a guy with a skill set as Bud would slide so far its that reverse race issue in bball thats in baseball thats hard to explain
Going to have to give up talent. If I had to choose it'd be Chase simply because we have other good wing players. Behind Hill we have Jeffries, Andersen, and Hayes. BUT if you are getting Bosh back(and trade Hill) then I suppose he'd start over Scola so not that big of a deal.
I don't think so. Hill has a higher ceiling most teams felt and thats how they draft usually. Top 10 teams are always going with the guy that can be the next "_____" For Hill it was the next Chris Bosh, at least thats how some teams had him rated. Also remember Hansbrough did go 13th. You can argue that you should draft for NBA readiness over potential, but teams are looking for future all-star players in the top 10. Sometimes they are willing to wait for however many years (Rubio) just because. I really don't think teams are dodging guys because of skin color, they just feel that player is their guy.
