The U.N. is preparing a binding international treaty that would transform the 2nd admendment into empty words,...then those in power to ratify that treaty will be the members of the U.S. senate and whovever sits in the oval office...Which means to me, the Nov. 2004 elections will be the vote of my lifetime...

Kerry likes to fool many that he is a fellow gun guy, but his voting record shows he has voted against gun rights over 50 times on his record...Kerry has spat on my rights time after time...Kerry is the prime co-sponser of S.1431, which would give government bureacrats power to ban ownership of "any firearm" that has ever been "procured" for the military or federal law enforcement. Under that definition, this would ban Model 12s, Mossberg 500s, Ithaca 37s, Remington 870s, Remington 700s, or even your grandpa's trusty ole Winchester Model 94 in .30-30

Kerry is a perfect disaster for our future freedom...

"It is true that you may fool all the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all of the time; but you can't fool all the people all the time"

One problem with your analogy...Toby Keith is not a Republican.

"Short-tempered country star Toby Keith doesn't back down from anything. He has feuded with the Dixie Chicks, quarreled with ABC anchorman Peter Jennings, stood up for rednecks, bashed the Taliban, and furthered his hawk credentials by taking a swipe at terrorists in the radio hit, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)." Sample verse: "This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage/ And you'll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A."

But Keith has a confession to make. "People don't realize that I'm a registered Democrat," he says. "They automatically assume that I'm a chest-banging, war-drum-pounding Republican with my military stance."

Keith goes on to compare himself to Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut: "a conservative Democrat who is sometimes embarrassed for his party."

That is why I hate the way politics today are - someone's feeling on one issue "automatically" makes them a Republican or Democrat. I am in favor of gun control - guess I am a Democrat, but wait, isn't Manny pro-life? Woops..

BTW - W will win by greater than 5%.

The winchester '94 is almost a cool weapon. I like the '73 though.

Anyway, I think there might be some misunderstanding on the UN's resolution. I don't believe they are doing anything that would dictate American's right to gun ownership.

So? Zell Miller calls himself a Democrat too.

Besides, the analogy actually refers to the political leaning of the attendees of the concert moreso than the performer, which is irrelevant.

The only thing keeping me from going insane is the knowledge that I have Australian citizenship and could go back at any time. And that is exactly what I'm going to do if Bush wins. I'll enjoy one more season of Rockets basketball in America and then I'm off.

This is not a decision I'm making lightly. It took 13 years to get a greencard here, and I'm only four years away from being able to attain citizenship. Bush coming back would make me willing to throw away 13 years of work.

I can only hope that Latham wins on October 9th.

    Here is what you said:

And chance, no offense dude, but this comes off as one of those rants where you could just switch out "W" with "Kerry", "Democrat" with "Republican", and "Dave Matthews Band" with "Toby Keith" and it'd work the other way around.

I don't believe your statement that it is irrelevant; I think you are trying to cover yourself here.

That analogy would be "crystal clear" if you had actually used a Republican performer, instead it is somewhat nebulous.

I'm refering to chance's post, which is talking about people at a DMB concert being lefties (although toothless ones, as he said)

Yeah, I didn't know Keith calls himself a Democrat. But like I said, it makes no difference.

Read chance's post again if i'm not making any sense.

    toothless?

I didn't say that. In fact, the whole of the crowd at the concert was classy, toothful, energetic people.

they all had big toothy smiles with teeth everywhere.

I think that it's going to be less than 1% margin, no matter who wins.

Would it? Nevermind, you are right...

False start maybe, or just a restart due to flip-flops getting in the way:)

Why are people still bringing up this flip-flop nonsense?

It's been widely shown for a while now that Bush changes his direction as much as Kerry, or anyone else for that matter.
