Since I live in a city where Jeff Garcia played for 5 years I felt I should offer comment on the speculation that he may be gay. The short answer is that I highly doubt it. Jeff’s family went through some real tragedy when he was young. He lost a couple of siblings to fatal accidents when he was 7 and 8 years old. I think the result of that is that he’s very close to his parents. You could even call him a mama’s boy. In Calgary, however, he always had a girlfriend. Since he’s been with the 49ers he has come back every year for Stampede and to attend a Stampeders game or two, and every year he has had a hottie in tow, although I’m not sure if it’s always the same one. I probably have the world’s worst gaydar, but if Jeff Garcia is gay he disguises it very well, and seems to really enjoy doing it.
