Who do you prefer calling the games with Bill? Drexler or Bullard?

I like that they switch it up...

 

Clyde. He's hilarious and I don't really need real basketball commentary, so I'd rather the humor.

I love our commentators. I think they are funny and have voices that are easy on the ears. I prefer Clyde over Matt. Are most of the posters on this thread male? When I talk BB with my (girl) friends we all talk about Clyde and make sure we get the nights right when he commentates.
Don't want to miss a "Clyde night". When I watch other teams play I am always thinking how much I don't like their announcers. They are either boring, dry, annoying, too serious, awful voices - or something. I am glad we have Bill, Clyde and Matt.

 

Many years from now when Clyde is gone, members here will opine for him like Murphy right now.

 

Time to bring back Murph!!

 

You must be joking... Clyde is almost universally considered a joke as a commentator. Murph actually garnered ratings for the show, my family would still watch even when we were down 20+ because he was still fun to watch. Clyde is downright painful at at times.

 

I'm not saying that about me. I'm saying that as more of an indictment of the people here. People are starting to warm up to Clyde like Rockets fans warmed up to Murph back in the day. I don't think Murph was universally loved when he first started too.

For the record I think both of them are/were unintentionally funny.

I'm still in bewilderment of all the Murphy love. He was a homer with some corny sayings sprinkled with some occasional jive talk that got stuck in my head. You guys act like the Rockets let go Howard Cosell.

Clyde looks like a nice man but I do not like him on the mic. He sounds so awkward and monotonous. Broadcasting just isn't for him. WTF does rockets management see in him that they haven't booted him already??

Calvin and Van Chancellor would be the best duo...and make Rudy T do some sideline reporting, but only if he is drunk.

Calvin Murphy was the best. Absolutely the most entertaining announcer ever in our sports history. We should put aside silly personal life happenings and put that guy back into the booth. Very entertaining and i dont care one bit about these guys personal lives. I just want to be entertained.

 

does anyone else notice that bill is starting to miss what types of calls are being made and and who is on the floor, he kinda seems out of it sometimes....His catch phrases are realy corny too, i literaly heard him say..."what a nice knockaway!!" what? he was talking about a nice block battier made on someone. Calvins a pedophile and drexler is full of himself, i say marc vandemeer and matt bullard

Mutumbo and Moses Malone would be epic..drinking game consists of taking a drink every time you understand a word

 

really wish they would bring calvin back. it seems like everyone wants him, he was acquitted of charges, plus its been years anyway, whats the problem ????

 

Some find John Madden and Howard Cosell annoying--some love them. Not to say Bullard & Clyde are on that level, but that is how it is in public life. I happen to like them both...
