Did Clemens leave that Atlanta game with the lead?

I voted for Clemens but after reading these responses I'm willing to reconsider Munro.

All of the Munro arguments make good sense but baseball is sometimes a wierd game where intangibles take over. The Cards area great team and when you face a great team you don't want to give them a break. While Munro on full rest might be statistically as good as Clemens on 3 days rest we're discounting all of the Big Game experience and plain intimidation that Clemens will bring to the mound. The Cards are down right having lost three in a row putting Clemens on the mound might give us the psychological edge to take them. If the Cards win one and it goes to game 7 on their field I'm not so sure about that.

Yea, but he only pitched 5 shaky innings (and he was REALLY spent after the 4th... somehow, he was lucky to get another one in).

If on full rest, Clemens pitches the 6th inning of a 5-2 game 99 times out of 100... but because of the 3 days rest, he had to come out.

It took a certain C. Qualls to blow it, but still... its almost just as important that a starting pitcher goes deep in the game, as how many runs he gives up.

See Oswalt on Sunday... even though he wasn't at his best in terms of giving up runs, he did pitch 6 innings... and kept the bullpen out of it as much as he could.

You have to go with Munro becuase you have to be smart enough to set yourself up for the World Series if you make it.

Game 6 - Munro (full rest)
Game 7 - Clemens (full rest)

    WS

Game 1 - Oswalt (full rest)
Game 2 - Backe (full rest)
Game 3 - Clemens (full rest)
Game 4 - Depending on outcome you can go with Munro if we are up. That gives Clemens, Oswalt, and Backe full rest.

Down 4-3 through six innings, Wheeler and Lidge still available. A short-rest Clemens wouldn't have done any better. Garner made the correct decision.

unfortunately not with "slow missle" micelli

garner apparently hasn't learned his lesson with micelli...apparently 2 blown games aren't enough, it has to be 3

anybody but micelli, personally i wouldve gone with gallo facing edmonds after rolen popped out. i don't like gallo that much but i don't like micelli even more. Especially with what's happened in the past, i take my chances with a lefty-left matchup instead of just giving the stupid game away.

Gallo or Springer would have been better than Miceli...especially since Edmonds is a left hander.

    Ah well......let's get em tomorrow.

What is Pettit's status? He's always in the dugout. Why is he travelling with the team and on the playoff roster if he can't pitch?
