Haha, I don't blame you. I, on the other hand, am a Florida Gator so I voted for OSU. I'm hoping to party ONCE AGAIN on University Ave (isn't every college on a University Ave/St/Blvd in their city?) after the BCS championship game.

And that's another reason to vote against OSU, they could win the football and basketball championships in the SAME season! On the other hand, Florida has a decent chance at repeating for basketball this season. :D

I see the anti Horn/UT-Austin contingent is strong today.

I voted other as there was no OU choice. Seeing the Mustangs throw all over them and dropping 50pts would be a nice post-xmas gift.

After Cal cryed about getting shafted over UT-Austin for the 2005 Rose Bowl and then getting spanked by TTEch I can help but hesitantly root for A&M. Besides, like Rain Man, I enjoy a heartwarming r****d story. Gig'em!!!

As opposed to Mack Brown whining to his fellow Big 12 coaches to jump past Cal in the polls.

CAL I guess cause TAMU is playing them.

    Gig 'em Aggies....

Not sure if TCU made a bowl game, hard to follow their season down here when only the begining of the season was on tv.

My vote was more FOR Iowa than AGAINST Texas. My little bro hopes to start at UT next fall. I'll have to root for them then. Iowa still trumps all though. :D

    sure, sure. "whining..." :p
we all saw it was the right decision anyway, seeing as:

    - your golden sugar bears couldn't take care of business against C-USA southern miss in the season finale and led by 3 up until 4 mins to go

    - the texas-michigan rose bowl was widely called the best game in its history (of course, until the 06 ut-usc title game)

-your best game that season was a 6-point loss (texas had a road win in fayetteville, at least)

    - your 20-something year old QB called out a respected coach on national TV and did the real "whining"

    - your team stated that lack of motivation wasn't a factor, since they'd pretend the texas tech jerseys just said "texas"...

    - ...and got waxed by two scores...

    -...in your home state

    - you followed that season up with 4 losses, texas won a national championship

    ;)

... well, anyway, go bears - beat M&A (teeheeeomfg)

DUDE! I know, thanks for the heads up, but I saw it on tv. ROFL. YES!

I can't believe they are ranked #25 again after being #13 earlier in the season and losing back to backs.

Uhh...Cal won that game. But I will agree Tedford made a mistake by thinking that being classy and not running up the score on an inferior opponent would be respected.

No doubt by people in Texas. The Rose Bowl has a long history and while it was a good game wasn't nearly the best game in its history.

Considering Cal blew out several teams that year I don't know how that can be considered Cal's best game of the season. Anyway that 6-point loss was to the #1 team and eventual national champ. UT had one loss too but to the #2 team and that wasn't close.

I agree not a classy move on Rodgers part but then again he was a 20 something QB and not a 50 something coach begging fellow coaches.

Tedford did a bad job motivating his players Tech played a great game. I tip my hat to them but unless the BCS could see in the future at bowl selection none of that was known. Further the Rose Bowl has traditionally been Pac 10 vs Big 10 and the Rose Bowl choice was Cal. The coaches poll over ruled that due to Mack Browns whining.

Lets see our starting QB, starting running back, and several other key players left while Vince Young finally came into his own. Hardly a fair comparison.

Yes, I know they won. But it had nothing to do with being "classy". It had to do with the fact that Southern Miss posed a real threat to win (up until the last minutes) in a game where Cal and the entire nation knew it was a statement game. If Cal blows the doors off this team, it's Rose Bowl for them that year. Instead, it's a sloppy win which impresses nobody. That game was a clear-cut audition for the Rose Bowl, Cal blew it. If you can't just wreck Southern Miss, you can't hang with Michigan. You have to admit, the defense looked weak. I watched that game.

Name a game with a closer point differential. Name a game where a QB runs for 200 and passes for 150+. A field goal wins a dead-heat game? It was widely considered the best for the Rose Bowl, even outside of Texas.

You can blow out any team and it not be a "good game" for your team. You shouldn't have to pat yourself on the back for destroying teams that you should destroy. While the USC game was good, it was still Cal's only game against a heavy hitter, and it was a loss.

I still don't see the "begging." I heard Mack say, "look at this team. look at what they've done." if there was nothing to see, then voters would have realized it and dropped Texas. they compared schedules, competition, and waited to see Cal's response in a scrappy win against a weak Southern Miss. Besides, if you're Mack Brown and you get peppered with press questions like he did, do you say "No, my team should stay out of BCS games." ? No, you stick up for your players.

Motivation was no factor. That quote from the Chron/AP reports said Cal was ready, and mad. RB is traditionally Pac10/Big10, but when a good-looking matchup comes up, you can't just pass it up from a business standpoint, too. The Rose Bowl loves Texas, the money is just too good from traveling fans.

    Touche'.

what he was saying was that Cal sucked donkey ass that specific year you guys were discussing

which is completely true...I've never laughed harder in my life for a college football game, after all the crying Cal did. seriously, how could you defend them for that year, *especially* after what Tech did to them. I really would have had sympathy for their situation if they didn't cry like pusses about the bowl game selection, and then took care of business with actions instead of words. instead, they showed they really were pusses that year

you're going to lose the debate every time regarding that specific team...I would stick to talking about this year's team and bowl season instead
