If Les decides its time for a change, I personally dont want any of the current coaching staff...This team needs a new direction in regards to coaching. The talent is there, and the pieces are there for a real shot at a title. However, their underacheiving results so far has really created a panic among most of us. The most important thing I hope Morey was able to see was that all true contenders had coaching that maximized their team's potential. This team may very well struggle offensively, but eventually that gets settled as shooters start making shots. As I stated before...our defense has been pathetic, and it was magnified throughout the playoffs; giving up 100+ ppg. Till this team learns to play team defense, there is a high likelihood that this team will regress...and perhaps sink OUT of playoff contention. Hire JVG(unlikely he wants to coach) or Thibs(more likely to coach) and let him decide on the staff he wants to keep. Cant believe we lost to Denver twice this season...combined with several BAD home losses.
Is that the J.B. Bickerstaff running the defense who can't stop anyone to save their lives? Finch, I think he's the guy Morey tried to force on Adelman to groom as a potential coach and Rick wasn't having any of that. Or at the very least wanted him on Adelman's staff. Don't want any of them. No good choice for interim coach.
Really.....I'd throw a bazillion dollars at Coach k. He won't come, but you make the call none the less. The more I see from this team, the more I think Thibs is the guy. I really wasn't a believer, but the defense is even harder to watch than the offense right now, and I'm starting to wonder if we don't need a stronger presence in the locker room.
