The only way I give up on Adelman is if JVG returns. Not happening. The only way I give up on Morey is if he doesn't do something soon to salvage the season. I know that's tough, but the Rockets could really use Ariza right now. Maybe his decision will be beneficial somewhere down the line, but the Rockets have always been win now. I am too used to that greed, and I don't expect it to stop this season. Maybe he faked the injuries and he quit like some of you think. The only reason he wouldn't want to play in the regular season is if he wanted to show management his team wasn't good enough to win and that they needed to add better players to win. Without Kevin the Rockets point differential would be -30 instead of -5.
His play has decreased steadily? Really? You mean after he took six months off from working out at all and a full YEAR off from playing in competition. Then in those FIVE games he played, he should've been back to 100%? If by "lost a step or two" you mean "still isn't back to his post-injury form," fine, but to claim he's an inferior player based on what you've seen thus far is just insane. In 18 minutes a game, he's averaging 10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. Here are his stats from his last two seasons, alongside his stats from this year (extrapolated to roughly the same minutes for comparison): 2007 - 37+ mpg - 22.0 / 10.8 / 2.0 2008 - 33+ mpg - 19.7 / 9.9 / 2.0 2010 - 36 mpg - 20.4 / 10.8 / 3.2 In other words, the idea that Yao has "lost a step or two" is total sh!te. If he were able to play 36 minutes per game this year, his stats would be right in line with his previous two seasons. The only significant change is that his defense has suffered a bit, but even that is most likely because he's still working his way back into game shape. So can we just drop this "Yao is done" myth once and for all? Sure, he doesn't LOOK as quick as he used to be (like his game was ever based on quickness), but he's every bit as productive offensively as he's been in recent years. The problem is that he's not allowed to play enough minutes to get the box score stats that most of you fixate on.
No, he was just injury prone like Yao and not dependable. Kevin's stats are great but certainly not as clear cut as you make it out to be.
