Looks like the Rockets couldn’t even succeed at tanking this year. All that pain and we may still likely end up between 5-7 and will be rebuilding/tanking for yet another year under the tutelage of Silas.
Actually, the odds of us getting the 5-7 pick are worse than our chances at 1-4, so you just pulled that "likely" out of your a$s.
If we want harden to return , we better package it and get a bonafide star to pair with him and Green
Even if we were #1 we'd still have (according to you) more odds of being #5 There are many reasons to be disappointed about this season. Not being the #1 worst team is not one of them
Ummmm… we’re basically in the exact position that we tanked all season to be at… at least wait til we get screwed by the ping pong balls b4 u start the doom n gloom b****in… lol or r u complaining we haven’t locked up 4…?
I don’t care much between number 7 and number 5. The odds of getting a top 4 are exactly the same. After that, not much difference between Jarace Walker, Cam Whitmore or Ausar Thompson, for example. I wouldn’t cry for losing one of those 3 and getting other of those 3
The Spurs are still ahead of us by half a game. Right now the worst we can get is #6 and that's only a 20% chance. As for who to take if we do land at #6--whoever drops that far between these three prospects: Jarace Walker Amen Thompson Ausar Thompson I'm leaning slightly toward Amen lately for the sky-high upside and because we need a great playmaker. I bet he goes #3 or #4 though, but there's a chance he drops. Anyway, all three are great prospects and they're all very close in draft value. So I don't think you can clearly say we lost out versus having the #3 or #4 picks no matter which of those guys we end up with.
I think if there’s a premier prospect outside of Scoot and Wemby, our scouts will identify who that is. I have a lot of faith in our scouting and analytics departments within the org. So I’m actually not really stressing about the draft. It became clear to me early into the season that we’d have a real shot to finish bottom 3 and that’s what’s gonna happen. There may be a range of evaluations among the different teams after the top 2 or 3 prospects. If we end up picking #7 there may be a a guy there we really like or maybe we move up a spot or two with the Clippers pick…or maybe we trade the pick if we think the draft is flat after pick 4. Regardless of how it works out, a good GM will get big value out of that pick. We have a lot riding on Stone this offseason and the draft is part of that. At least we know we’ve got good scouts and analytics to help him make the right draft decisions. The track record isn’t bad there.
