Don't really care to much for this poll as I don't feel that being "Da Man" has anything to do with team ball. (there's no "Da" in TEAM). :D

By the way Mac', roles where clarified on the Lakers and ego's were massaged, but Shaq was made the leader because he is THE most dominant force on that team (and the NBA for that matter). The same can not be said for Yao and the Rockets (at least not right now).

Notice that when Shaq was injured it was automatically understood that Kobe was then "Da Man". Have you watched the Lakers, at any point in the game Kobe may differ to Shaq or Shaq may differ to Kobe, sharing the role of "DA MAN", thus illustrating that there is room and ball enough on any team for two stars, so what was the point of the poll again.

Having a guard of Steve's quality and a big Man of Yao's potential is a luxury in the NBA and I don't see why so many folks are so ready to break these guys up, or seem to think that they can not co-exist. Let's not polarize this team, but think more along the lines of things that they can do to work more as a unit.

P.S. - By the size and length of Steve's contract I think that it is clear who the Rockets think "DA MAN" is (and hopefully by the time Yao's contract extension time comes along he has lived up to all of our and the Rockets expectations and gets paid like "Da Man" too).

    1) Where in here did I say it should be Yao?

    2) I have never seen a championships team in 30 years without a clear cut no. 1 guy...have you?

But this is disingenuous! "DA MAN" divided against himself cannot stand!
We must go forth... united in DA MAN-ness.
Verily, we can have "DA MAN" and "da man", large in stature (as Yao is, or as one of MacBeth's typical posts) or small (as Francis is, small in stature and great in, uh, something... it'll come to me later).

Having said that, I doth protest... at the lack of "none of the above" in the poll.

    Carry on.
