This 100%. But I'll add I also get home earlier than she does and I prefer not to eat at 8:30 every night.
Yep. And what's great about us guys who cook is we can get them to clean afterwards and take out the garbage as a trade. And then they even tell their friends how awesome we are because we cook. What I'd give to be a stay at home, kept man with eight hours each day to plan, buy and cook dinner.
Sorry to say I don't think I could eat and enjoy without judging another women's cooking other than my mother's at least not yet. I learned how to cook from my mom. SHE's learning how to cook from pintrest. Needless to say I cook as much as possible
Except I do all of those things while she sits on the couch and texts or sits on Facebook. I really don't like to be disturbed while I cook, I'm focusing and forgetting about the day, I don't need the distractions.
Y'all must a) not have young kids, and b) have jobs that get both you and your partner home by dinnertime. I can cook some but I'd be scared to feed it to y'all; not sure what you'd think. I'm not too picky - sure I probably take a few shortcuts and don't produce a proper gourmet quality meal, but when you don't have much time and there's a toddler hanging onto your leg, pulling pots and pans out of cabinets, and getting into the refrigerator every time you open it, it's just going to be whatever you can produce quickly. My husband doesn't know how to cook that much. Between our different schedules and different tastes (aside from restaurant food), it's getting where neither of us "cooks". 5-6 days of the week, there is one of us (usually him, sometimes me) not getting home until 9 p.m. or later. We end up eating on our own; I often just throw something quick together and he eats a lot of fast food. There are a lot of Papa Murphy's pizzas involved and other such quick solutions. If he cooked, it would be something like chicken hamburger helper. Not my personal favorite - bland and full of calories. On the other hand, he turned up his nose at something I cooked earlier this week and hasn't wanted to eat at home since - honestly, my attempt at chicken with blueberry sauce with red quinoa wasn't bad... but, on the other hand, I'm not about to subject anybody else to it. I like the more exotic tastes/ fusion and he likes comfort food.
