Anyone know how Quincy Miller is progressing in Summer League Camp? He had some success with Denver, however never knew why it didn't work out. He's 6'9", long and athletic, can score and play good defense.

Avery Bradley is by far the best comparable replacement for Ariza. He doesn't have the length of ariza but is elite defensively by being a ball hawk

I'm really surprised that he's not signed yet.

probably going through his options. doesn't seem like he has any huge ties going specifically to anyone anyways. hes also still fairly young.

JJ Redick paired with a defensive presence like Shumpert

For what it's worth, Luc has shot .375 over the past two seasons compared to .355 for Ariza.

LMM % from 3 will be horrible if he had to try to replicate the volume of Ariza's 3. hes not a good 3 pt shooter. he can be somewhat respectable in limited volume in the role he played last season. anything bigger over the course of a full season isnt ideal

I got this feeling Melo if/once bought out by the Thunder will end up here at the SF spot.

Yeah and maybe they can make it work. CP3 works miracles.

Until Luc's volume actually increases and we see how he shoots, that's merely a generalization. Some players actually shoot better with more attempts.

Look at Ariza's career 3PT volume and percentages as an example. Since he started actually shooting threes in '08-'09, here are his stats...

.327 in the 4 seasons where volume was at or below 3.7 attempts (average of 2.98)
.362 in the 6 seasons where volume was at or above 5.7 attempts (average of 6.36)

Luc's career has taken a similar path to this point...started out not shooting threes at all, and now he's shooting a respectable .345 on low volume (1.89 attempts) over the past 4 seasons. The truth is no one knows how he'd be affected by a volume increase.

its not. he isn't all of a sudden going to throw up 450+ 3's when hes barely gone over 200 once in his 10 year career. and with that he was barely a 30% shooter. understanding an actual player profile goes a long way here. Moute will never be the same type of shooter ariza is.

name mediocre guys that shoot better with more attempts that aren't true shooters. true shooters like korver, reddick, klay dont count bc moute is not anywhere near close to their level from the perimeter

We need to trade for Kelly Oubre Jr. He's ready to start and Washington can't afford to pay him and Otto Porter. Also they don't have a center.

Kelly Oubre Jr. for Nene + 1st + Rights to Hartenstein makes sense for both teams

Wasn't Rodney Hood terrified in the finals and self-admittedly basically got stage freight?

He should be starting somewhere for sure. Not sure WAS would let him go.

Yeah I'd definitely be kicking the tires on Courtney Lee if I was Morey. He's just okay on defense these days but he'd be one of our best 3P shooters. Bring back Lee

I'm saying no to Bradley & Lee simply replacing Ariza as the starting 3. Great defenders, but you need much more size and length in the West to defend what you'll see in the playoffs.

LRMM is the better option at the 3 as a starter honestly. Bradley & Lee come off the bench for this Rockets team. Those guys cannot matchup with the physical capabilities of a Lebron, Durant, Kawhi, etc.

    ....

Another obvious candidate is actually PJ Tucker. Moving him to the 3, and playing another 4 man in the rotation. Just as long as that 4 man can switch on defense. Or you try out Ryno at the 4 again to start the season with PJ moving to the 3. Try different defensive schemes to keep Anderson out of the P&R.

They drafted another SF in Tony Brown and are already significantly into the luxury tax, so I think the writing is on the wall for either Oubre or Porter.

Porter's contract is ugly, but that might be just the sort of deal we can flip Anderson for, especially if we can find a 3rd team for Anderson. Obviously we would have to add in some assets because Porter is simply the better player regardless of contract, but I think there's a window here for a deal.
