Ryno for Bazemore is inevitable imo. Definitely a downgrade from Ariza, but considering Ryno contributed 0 on the court when it mattered, Bazemore can at least give us some depth on the wing as a band aid rather than being dead cap. Maybe his slightly better athleticism than Ariza will somewhat mitigate his dramatically lower IQ. Maybe playing for Budenholzer - a smart coach imo - has rubbed off on him slightly. We have to hope for the best I guess. Also, Bazemore hit 39% on 3's last season. He's likely to stay close to that as long as he gets more open looks than he's gotten with the Hawks and more of his attempts come from the corner. It's not ideal, but it solves a problem and saves us a couple million in cap and several times that amount on luxury tax IIRC. We would still have to send at least a second rounder or two (maybe even a heavily protected first) to make that happen though.
We really need a 3D wing. Really excited to see who Morey can get. And no... Not some Euro journeyman.
This is what I'm thinking. People are forgetting that Tucker can easily slide over to SF. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we get it done via trade rather than a buyout. Anderson + a small asset for Melo could make sense for both teams. OKC saving $8 million this year could save them like $50 million in taxes...and don't forget that Melo still has that no-trade clause.
Probably need a shooting version and a taller 6'8, 6'9 version of Melton. I think he is listed as 6'3 or 6'4.
CLE would match for MLE money. You’d have to S&T for him or trade him after he accepts the QO. Either way you’d need to give CLE a pick to make it work.
With the crop of free agents left no one outside of Luc can replicate Ariza's defense, even if Trevor is on the decline. My opinion? Re-sign Luc then roll the dice and bring back the Beas.
Bradley if healty might be the best pick up at this point, start him at the two beetwen Chris and James, we would play a bit smaller but eh, it's not that we have that much of a choice apparently. Because we would? Not 1st of course, but 2nd rounders yeah, i guess. And btw, Bazemore isn't exactly great value, Atlanta tanked last season and weren't able to find anybody having interest in him. His contract is as bad as Ryan's, and it's not like he's some sort of super role player, he's good 3&D who makes almost 20M per year with a player option. People now so desperate that think you would've to trade multiple 1st rounders to get one of the worst contracts in the league we lost Ariza, big loss, not the end of the world.
