Battier really is Lex Luthor. No superpower, extremely intelligent, has ability to be president, but definitley evil.

McGrady is Dr. Manhattan. Everyone sees that he's plenty of talent and great "length" but remaind flaccid the entire time. More important, he's on Mars when you need him.

Forget about superheroes. I'd prefer a parody on the old Julius Erving movie titled "The Fish that saved Pitsburgh"

I like where this is going. I would say...

Lebron = Thanos - murdered his whole planet, Death is his girlfriend. They don't really come any badder.

Kobe = Dark Phoenix - ultimate power, does whatever she wants. Make her angry, she simply destroys you.

Deron Williams = Lex Luthor - super intelligent criminal mastermind. always pops up with a scheme to ruin your day.

Carlos Boozer = Deadpool - nasty mercenary guy

Chris Paul = Mytzlplyk? - Pesky little magic trickster, wreaks havoc until you trick him into saying his own name.

Shaq = Bizarro - because he's like Superman, just a little off in the head

Steve Nash = Braniac - no real super powers, just too smart for his (and your) own good

    Bounus:
Charles Barkley = The Penguin - talks bad about the Rockets, waddles off for cocktails
Violet Palmer = Catwoman - because RRReearw!

Using all the heros in every universe seemed too easy. So I limited myself. I give you... the Houston X-Men!

Aaron Brooks/Nightcrawler- Brook’s has speed, agility, and the ability to teleport all over the court.

Shane Battier/Cyclops- The field leader and boy scout of the Houston X-Men. Being a master tactician, Shane can read defenses and react by drawing charges and anticipating an opponents move. On offense, he is pretty human with his one power being his optic blast (three point shot).

Ron Artest/Wolverine- Brings his edgy toughness to the team. Artest is a lone wolf, aggressive, moody (aka streaky) player. A lot of potential in this gruff fan favorite.

Luis Scola/Storm- Very consistent player with a wide range of abilities. He can affect the game in so many different ways… shooting, posting up, securing boards, playing D (lighting, hurricanes, floods, ice, etc.).

Yao Ming/Jean Grey- Very powerful mutant that for the most part rarely unlocks his full ability. Only when angered does Yao get aggressive and take over games with the Phoenix Force

Kyle Lowry/ Emma Frost: As a telepath (in pass-first mode) Lowry is adept at knowing where his teammates are, setting people up and making the right passes. In his diamond form (attack-mode), Lowry is super-tough and can bowl his way to the basket.

Von Wafer/Gambit- Very smooth, skilled, explosive player. However, much like Artest, Wafer has a tendency to be a streaky loner. Known to fire many projectiles in a short amount of time.

John Barry/Longshot- A specialist with a very unique ability.

Dikembe Mutumbo/Bishop- Great leadership skills, can absorb other players power in the paint and fire it back at them (block shots). Most importantly, this mutant transcends time.

Carl Landry/Beast- Has a unique combination of speed, athleticism, strength, and intelligence.

Chuck Hayes/Rouge- Despite his stature, Hayes is a very strong player. He can also rely on his ability is to absorb other people’s powers if needed (drawing charges), absorbing their life force (drawing fouls).

Brian Cook/Jubilee- I guess he can shoot? But really, who cares?

Joey Dorsey/Colossus- Defensive specialist with a lot of strength. Spends most of his time in his human form on the bench.

James White/Angel- Most known for his ability to fly.

T-Mac/Professor Xavier- One of the most powerful mutants in the world. Too bad he’s crippled.

Now, can you do a supervillain version of our arch nemesis players? (ie Boozer, Kobe, etc)

    You win!

Great job... Even I know most of the x-men thanks to the movies, so I actually understood most of those choices!

    Cool thread.

I agree with the poster who named Artest as THE PUNISHER!

That totally fits his persona on and off of the court.

Aaron Brooks: Speed Racer without having to save a girl.

Chuck Hayes: The Pest--used for pestering opponents' best post players.

Now this one is out of the box....If you played Battletoads on Sega Genesis back in the day, you'll understand.

Kyle Lowry is a Battletoad. Remember their moves? Bulled straight through people with their chests, knocking them over like dominoes.
