Well.. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm going for Utah. As bad as we are against Utah, we are even worse against the Lakers. Plus, Utah is banged up and we would have homecourt against them in the 2nd round. With the Lakers, there is little to no chance that we could beat them in a 7 game series.

shouldn't this thread be in the NBA Dish?

i can't root for either. i'll root that it goes 7 games, tripple OT in each, and all players from both teams suffer from extreme exhaustion.

Utah. Reason one, the Rockets would have a much better chance against them. Reason two, while I hate both teams equally, the Lakers obviously have a much better chance of winning it all, so I'd like to see them knocked out ASAP.

i'm rooting for the lakers to lose, if we cant win the ring i'd rather cleveland or boston win over the Lakers. Plus i wouldnt mind get a crack at utah in the second round.

Nobody. I just want to watch some GREAT basketball. Not something like Lakers up by 20 and quick 4-0 or 4-1. I wanna have fun just watching NBA.

The best we can hope for is for the Jazz to push the Lakers to 7 by holding their home court, but there is no way the Jazz will lose to the Lakers. As much as I hate the Jazz, I'd rather play them then the Lakers - so you have to go for the Jazz.

But, lets take one round at a time. Lets win game one on the road against the Blazers and bring our first round curse to an end.

I'm definitely rooting against the Lakers every step of the way because I really don't want to see Kobe get another ring. Plus, the Jazz would be a much better match up for the Rockets in the second round.

That pretty much explains my feelings exactly. My dad said, "ok, we got to root for LA in the first round" Then I tried to explain this sentiment but failed. I think I just confused him.

    Of course the Jazz.

    (1) Seeing the Lakers fall on their face in the first round would be kind of sweet.
    (2) I'd rather face the Jazz with HCA than the Lakers with out it ... der.

UTAH. No question about it. I want the chance to avenge the pain and agony of the past. I want blood!

I feel the same way. I don't want their players to ever get hurt but I detest the way they get away with everything. That's why I can never respect Sloan even though they know how to execute plays.

I root for whatever gives the Rockets the best chance to win the NBA Championship.

We're 2-2 against Utah and would have HCA if we played them.
We're 0-4 against L.A. and would not have HCA if we played them.

The choice is obvious, and as much as it pains me to say it: GO UTAH!

Lakers but only after the Jazz have pummeled them. It should be a Pyrrhic victory along the lines of Kobe Bryant getting worn out so much that by the time they face us (hopefully 2nd round) we can quickly pounce on them before they regain strength.
