Well, my best friend is a huge Lakers fan. And I certainly gave him hell during the dark years of that franchise. So now we're in role reversal, and I'm trying to be a good sport... So I guess out of loyalty and friendship... if you can't root for the Rox, I gotta go with the Lakers... ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
Oh, and I should say that although I've always absolutely loathed him, I'm actually kind of silently cheering for Ewing... In the face of all the disappointment, trades, talk of old age, everything, he's quietly doing a fantastic job... It's just sad if you look at where Patrick is compared to Hakeem.... ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
Who would I route for? hmmmmm..... Jazz-No, there is NO way I can pull for the Jazz it is against my religion. Lakers-No b/c as soon as Shaq wins a ring people will way he is better then Hakeem was. Knicks-Yes b/c I am from NY and want Patrick Ewing to get a ring. Pacers-Don't have an opinion on them either way but another Knicks vs. Pacers East Finals would be nice. Spurs-I guess b/c I like Elie and enjoyed watching Duncan when he was at Wake Forest I think he is a classic guy. Suns-Why not, but w/o Kidd I don't know how they will do. Oh yea I forgot the Blazers BlazersHell No, two words: Scottie Pippen ------------------ ~John~ The Cheese Is In. Join us game nights in the chat room. SPURS!! Then Duncan gets bored with that and wants to play with Francis. Duncan forces a sign-n-trade, and... ROCKETS WIN in 2001!! In the aftermath, Barkley becomes infuriated for having retired one year too soon, then in a crime of opportunism--shoots Pippen at a nightclub for never apologizing!! Barkley bashers, Pippen bashers rechoice...as Dream-lovers cream while watching Duncan make him a hero in a parade again. I'm probably the only one on these boards that will be rooting for the Blazers, since the Rockets won't be here, but I have just cause: I live in Oregon. ------------------ The clock is winding down, and Scottie has the ball, Cato is sprinting towards him, Pippen shoots and here comes Cato. Man did you see that block?!!! Ouch it hit Scottie right between the legs. ITS FINAL!! THE ROCKETS ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF Y2K!!!
For two reasons, I am rooting for the Pacers. One, I want Bird to go out in style. And after 5 years of ECF and heartache from either the Knicks or the Bulls, I think that team stuck together and deserve a title after all these years. Two, I would love to see the Pacers win it so I can ask EJ/Mantronix this question: If the NBA is so fixed, how do small market teams win 4 titles in the 90's?(Houston twice, SA and Pacers). That would be good to hear. ------------------ Live Rocketball. Breathe Rocketball. Die with Rocketball.
I personally want Utah to win it all ! yes , thats right UTAH ! huh ? right ! kidding appart I am gonna be rooting for the Pacers out east and for the Kings in the West , I know they don't have much a chance according to everyone but neither did we back in 93 according to national press and some people here in town. Also , I wouldn't mind seeing Ewing getting a ring he so deserves , after all these yrs of been destroyed by "thaaa Bulls" I would not mind a ring for the old man . ------------------ Please give us an excuse to party on Richmond street once again!
