no they weren't - which is why they had to go... (from Daryll's perspective..) Don't get me wrong, I'm a BIG DM supporter... but if two people agree on everything - one of them is not needed...
JVG wasn't DM hire - he was fired a week after DM became GM... RA is a great coach... who left when DM wanted to control who he had on his staff... (would Pop or any other top tier coach tolerate that?). This is when DM's ego started to get the better of him... then we got the yes men - McHale and JB... who are gonna do whatever DM tells em to do... DM is a great GM - but he needs to place a higher emphasis on coaching - and let his coaches coach - not simply be n extension of himself...
I think part of the situation at the time of Adelman's departure was DM needed a coach who would be OK with all the roster alchemy he was going to have to do to rebuild without tanking. I think McHale served his purpose for that, the Rockets have Harden and Howard (for now), it's clear that Harden at least needs a lot more structure and discipline than he's been getting. The next coach needs to a man to provide it.
Your post almost hurts your cause. Parsons also got a $15 million a year contract. I suspect the Mavs regret it at this point. Especially if they could have gotten an Ariza type at half the price. If another team wants to pay DMo $15+ million a year, with an injury history, then the Rockets ABSOLUTELY SHOULD be looking to trade him. My list is: Harden Capela Ariza It's a bit unfair to put Ariza or Capela as untouchables ... clearly if you are blown away by an offer, you'd include them. But I could say the same about Harden, too. If you are obviously getting better value in return, you can trade EVERYONE. But Ariza is the exact type of player and contract you HAVE to have on a championship team. Consider Ariza gets paid under $8 million annually and declining over the next two years. Absent getting REALLY lucky with some relatively unknown or young player, and absent any obvious amazing improvement, or getting something back that is similar to Ariza to facilitate a deal that OBVIOUSLY greatly improves you eslewhere, trading Ariza is akin to saying we aren't really going to be championship caliber the next two years. Keep in mind Trevor can guard 1-4... you have to have defensive versatility in the NBA. The Rockets have problems guarding their own position usually.
So hypothetically would you trade a package of Capela and DMO for say a LaMarcus Aldridge to add with Harden and Howard right now? Just curious as to how much value some of you guys place on them is all.
Capela number one Harden Dmo Ariza....ehh Bev...Don't see him not being here... That core is good everybody else seriously has to go!
I don't really see why anyone would be. Only superstars are untouchable, and we don't appear to have any. And no, DMo and capela aren't gonna be superstars.
Really? One is a young jem who is almost looking as productive as Dwight since Dwight can not do anything and dmo is our best post player but you do not see that because JB is a fool!
if they keep playing like this at the end of jan, its dmo, capella, thornton for me the only guys (other than 3rd stringers) u cant blame for this shtty season everyone else is on the table. obviously need something good in return for harden or dwight.
the toyo janitorial cleaning staff. why??? because whether they love it or not they do what their supposed to do every game even if the rox win or do not maintain focus effort & discipline throughout da game
