Ariza should go first just for his steals alone. Could see TOs rise dramitically this year though, that's something you need to watch out for if you have TOs in your league (most standard leagues do.) Scola comes second for his solid contribution night in and night out - expect 17/10 at 50%+/75% this season. Plus a steal per. No blocks though. Brooks is a much more volatile pick, most valuable for his 3s. T-Mac is not worth drafting until at least the 11th round - he just TANKS your percentages. Battier's decent, but injuries hurt. Landry could have a break out year, could be a decent last round pickup. Don't take Chase yet. He will need to prove himself in some NBA games first, as do all rookies. Plus don't forget the ever present rookie wall.
in fantasy, he was always a decent pick because he filled up many different categories. Not everyone needs more points, assists or rebounds. 3pt%, ft% blocks, and steals are just as important.
lol...I agree, getting 15 point, 4-7 assists and some rebounds plus steals would be really good from Tmac. It kind of made me sad, considering not long ago people were comparing him to some of the best players in the league and could consistantly give u 20+ points, 4-6 assits, 5-7 rebounds... Anyway, back to the topic, i would say scola and brooks, andersen could be a steal though
In fantasy leagues that give equal weighting to each category, a fantasy team will draft Battier to get 1.5 3pters, 3pt%, 1 steal and 1 block from the SF position. Some new fantasy league players may only think about points and rebounds to win only 2 categories from week to week. They end up losing out on blocks, threes, 3pt%, and steals. When you get to the later rounds of a draft with more than 120 players. there aren't big scorers. A player that scores 10 pts 1.5 3pters, 1 steal and 1 block vs a player that gets 14 pts 0.7 3pt, 0.2 steals, 0.1 blocks. The 1st player will have twice the impact on 3pters, 5 times the impact on steals and 10 times the impact on blocks. The 2nd player will only be 40% better on points, but screw you on the other categories.
So does Budinger look like a good option at this point? I think he will be a major contributor for this offense
