chandler - gortat seems like he could be had for an expiring. we need someone who can defend, grab boards, block shots. although he isn't what yao is on the offensive side of the court, he can still fill in while he's out. i know his contract is quite expensive, but i can't see us going anywhere with hayes playing C for us. while yao is out, he could fill in. as long as need be. i'd take him over gortat, i watched gortat quite a bit during the playoffs this year, i like his hustle and size, but he's terrible on the offense, no post moves. if he can be had for cheap, MLE, i expect. he could fill in while yao is out and then back him up when he comes back, if he comes back.
what about drew gooden? he has decent size and i think he is an unrestriced free agent. he can play c while yao is out too
Really inconsistent, just a PF at best, not that strong, and his minutes never seem correlated to team success. Otherwise, interesting idea!
