We don't needto completely rebuild. We have an amazing cast of role players. I say we do our best next season and then enter the 2010 sweepstakes. We will have LOTS of money if we keep T-Mac and Yao's contract entering next year's offseason.

Remember, we took the Lakers to 7 without Yao and T-Mac. I'm not saying we are elite without them. We may just barely make the playoggs or miss out by 2 or 3 spots.

We can then sign some huge talent to play with our role players, and we have ourselves the Next Celtics for the 10-11 season.

of course they don't match Amares contract, but they would have to include more than just one of those players. this thread sucks.

    Trading for a STARTING Center!

Forgive me ahead of time if this gets moved or condensed into another thread.

Everyone is making lists of possible Free Agent Centers but I feel that will no longer be enough and even though Amar'e Stoudamire seems like the first option in a trade, I wanted to make a list of other Centers that we could trade for.

    Marc Gasol- Memphis
    Andrew Bogut- Milwaukee
    Emeka Okafor-Charlotte
    Andris Biendrins- Golden State
    Chris Kaman- L.A. Clippers
    Marcus Camby-L.A. Clippers
    Tyson Chandler- New Orleans
    Brad Miller- Chicago
    Samuel Dalembert- Philadelphia

I'm sure there are others so feel free to list who you would want, but let's keep it realistic and not start a "Let's get Dwight Howard thread"

It sounds great, but i doubt well be able to keep Tmac. also even getting rid of brooks would be a problem. hes a reliable point guard, and frankly i think barbosa is crap. he seems better for track and field. lowrys good, but i like him at backup. brooks is also key.

Basically this season will have some have some problems in the rockets roster. not much we can do but hope that things work out.

Elton Brand is on the block, but hefty contract and injury prone so that would be a no goo

    ??

Yes - they DO match Stoudemires salary.

    Biedrins $9m
    Wright $2.67m
    Bellinelli $1.55m
    = $13.22m

    Stoudemire =$16.38m

    16.38*0.75 (within 25%) = 12.29m

13.22 is closer to 16.38 than 12.29 so YES IT WORKS.

Seriously - think before you post? Why would they have even be talking this deal if the salaries didn't work

    Chris Bosh?

With the news of Yao, everyone is in obvious panic mode. I would like to see what everyone thinks of trying to aquire Bosh. The Raptors are interested in moving him since he might bolt in 2010.

I'm not sure what package they might be interested in but maybe somewhere along the lines of Tracy and one of the young assets for Bosh and one of their bad contracts. This not only gives them an expiring contract and more cap to work with next offseason but also gives them more young talent to build around. As far as the Rockets, they stay competitive and have Yao insurance in the case that he is out all season.

its a pipe dream but its all I got with this boring/now depressing off season. :(

Misleading title. Change to "Trade for a starting center!!" if possible.

IF the Suns were willing to talk Barbosa + Stoudemire for McGrady and Landry then that'd be worth considering.

Saves us almost $4million in salaries and gives us something to play with this season while Yao's future is assessed.

    Brooks/ Lowry
    Artest?/ Barbosa
    Battier/ Wafer?
    Scola/ Hayes
    Stoudemire/ ?

Probably still want to look at bringing in something else in the big man department though - Wallace or something for the MLE?

    Spencer Hawes Sacramento
    Okafor Charlotte
Bogut too if they might be willing to deal him.
