Cam is dumb as a bag of rocks when it comes to basketball IQ (I don't know about in other areas of intelligence, maybe he's a math genius for all I know). Even Jalen has a lot better processing ability/court vision, and those things are one of his major weaknesses.

Right now it is really hard to tell, Jalen had 4 years of reps and Cam half a year at best...

They have to decide on the fly if he is really dumb or just missing the reps to improve significantly.

And I don't think the dumb part is the biggest gripe......dude has a red flag for sulking, that is unprofessionalism.

Homeless Carmelo meets Guy who will never be Kobe.

Can’t believe I’m suggesting this, but sounds like Sac is trying to move off Lavine and go full rebuild. He only has two more years (including the player option) at $46 mil. He shot 44% from 3 on 7 attempts this season. He had one of his best seasons and seems to be over his injury. The defense is a huge question but if we are looking for a shooting/scoring upgrade, he’s probably one of the best available. I don’t think we’d have to give up much. It’s not crazy. Maybe Ime can force him to play D.

He would be an upgrade to Green. If you traded FVV plus a pick for him I’d be on board.

Cam is teachable but nobody is there to teach him.

Ime is just like these other regular coaches that don't have a vision. Haliburton was traded, Shai was traded, Brunson was traded .. all of them for peanuts

Never was for his production....and he has always been an upgrade over soft as charmin jalen Green.

Ime was an average to below average NBA player, he was never a great player, usually those guys make great coaches because they can appreciate great players, and the will power and talent they possess.

However some coaches are overbearing and get in the way of greatness - and are so afraid of mistakes they have a quick hook and don't let players learn from their mistakes.

I am fearful that Ime is that guy, Stone should do him a favor and trade away FVV, trade away Dillon Brooks and force him to play more talented younger players.

We aren't winning with FVV and Brooks in our starting 5.....ever......got to move on and take some lumps while the young pups mature.

Ideally if we aren't getting a superstar like Giannis, or even Booker, I would prefer if a deal was there of course.... to parlay Jalen into a deal for picks, and valuable contracts. Then I'd like to at least see what this team looks like without him at first with his minutes and usage going to Amen, Tari, Cam, Reed, etc.

I also get this nagging suspicion that the BPA that Stone will take will likely be a wing as well. Someone that can fight for those Jalen minutes.

    Then you have ....

A: A chance to see if you have someone already on your roster who can step in and be as productive (on a good contract)

    or

B: A situation like we had with the Kyle Lowry trade where we parlayed him into that pick that ultimately was the centerpiece down the line for the Harden trade.

    ...

Right now... trading Jalen (and picks) for a superstar is a goal at the top of the list, but if there's another deal out there to move him for a valuable asset package that can later be parlayed, I'm totally cool with that. However I think the team would disagree with that, and probably thinks it's better to keep Jalen since they think he's going to improve, and be a star player we can rely on in the future so my opinion is probably a waste of time.

On paper Lavine looks like a clear upgrade over Jalen and exactly what this team is missing. Teams seems to get better when he is shiped off; happend to Chicago this year. Not sure there is any connection or that this would happen in Houston, but makes one think if he is an addition by subtraction guy.

Rockets should not be that desperate. Plenty of assets to swing a trade and a deep pool of solid guards in the FA market with very few teams with cap space.

Edit: pulled a Pastor George and replied to myself. Meant to edit my post.

just thinking that he wouldn’t cost a ton and he’s such a good shooter. The issue is his defense. That’s why all that glitters isn’t gold with him. But Ime has absolutely turned non-defenders into serviceable defenders. If Lavine isn’t a turnstile defensively he’s an allstar, maybe even a 2nd or 3rd team all nba guy. Still I doubt he’s the kind of player Ime will want us to trade for. But I can’t think of a bigger offensive upgrade that’s actually attainable for what he’ll cost.

I don't hate it..... Actually it's certainly someone we should look at who "fits" with our current situation. I had forgotten about Lavine since the trade and Sac is probably open for business. I do wonder if he can be an Ime guy or more of just a placeholder as we evaluate Sengun and Amen.

And also time's moved on, so his "huge" contract is more like a rookie max now than a true star salary with those guys pulling in the 60 mil pers. I actually really like it, it'd also 100% push Jalen to the bench whilst giving him a pretty perfect example to learn from should we be unable to move off him. Why aren't more people suggesting Lavine? That'd be a great move for us.

Nah man... they need to trade Bari for Wemby, Cam for Flagg, Reed for KD to put em over the top - all these teams better throw in a 1st too since we're doing them a huge solid by taking their trash ;)

    Amen
    Ant
    Flagg
    Giantus
    Wemby

    FVV 6th man

I thought I'd look into their game scores over the last season.

    Lavine:
    0-9 3 4%
    10-19 23 31%
    20-29 29 39%
    30-39 17 23%
    40-49 2 3%

    Jalen:
    0-9 12 15%
    10-19 22 27%
    20-29 34 41%
    30-39 12 15%
    40-49 2 2%

He actually genuinely is what we want Jalen to be, less terrible games for more consistency. We need to seriously look at this option tbh.

See it as an addition to your post than a response.

yeah, that’s the trade, you beat me to it.
SAC needs to shake things up, Green still has some "potential", will sell some tickets.
    Plus, he’s a Cali homeboy.
