    Anyone know if the officiating crews are already determined well ahead of time, or chosen just a couple days before each game?

    No ****. Nothing can be as bad as the dude apparently watching the game with pen and paper writing down all questionable (I won't even say bad) calls.

    Here are some meaningless stats about tonight's officials.

    During the regular season when Bavetta officiated a game the Rockets went 3-1 including 0-1 at home. When Brothers officiated a game the Rockets went 3-2 including 1-0 at home. And when Philips officiated a game the Rockets went 1-0 including 1-0 at home.

    Loved the no call when Yao got blatantly hacked by Aldridge under the basket.

    You know, refs, when a player goes up with the ball, and the defender chops downward, and yet the ball flies upward, that's a good sign that the defender did not get all ball.
