Exactly. If I had to work 70-plus hours (like during football season) in a job I hated, I would not be very happy. My best wishes that you can find something you truly like to do, as opposed to what you have to do.
Thanks, but I don't really hate my job. I'm just in a bad mood because I got a promotion last month which is great, but I have to wait for them to train someone to replace me before I can go to my new department. It could take a couple of months. But at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel now. That and this bbs is the only thing that gets me through the day.
I have a cousin who is an air traffic controller. He was fired by Reagan back in 1981, and he swore vengence and hatred upon Reagan until the day he Reagan died. Naturally, I had to call him this week to see if he was celebrating. He was. He was re-hired in 1998 when Clinton allowed the re-hiring to take place. The running joke at his workplace is that all the scabs get Friday off, and the re-hires have to work Friday.
I work at the University of Dayton bookstore, i am scheduled to work friday, i havent heard anything about being off though.
It being fire season, I'm essential and will be at my post on Friday, though I might come in a couple of hours late.
I work for the federal government and we actually get every other friday off already due to a special work schedule. In light of that they decided to give us Thursday off so today is Friday for me
Yeah sometimes I feel guilty(Ok not really), but then I remember how I'm sure I have to fill out paperwork to take a trip to the restroom or it would be unauthorized and misuse of tax dollars.
