I like platoon of Yuli and Brantley with Abreu/Yordan shifting in and out of DH to offset. I just feel Abreu upside is higher than Rizzo. I also think he would transition better with so much cuban influence on the club...
I think Abreu on a 2 year deal without giving up a pick and international signing $ is preferable to Rizzo who would command a longer contract. Abreu had a higher WAR last year, even though his homers were down.
The only free agents I have any interest in are Yuli, Brantley, and Verlander. Happy to trade for a 1st baseman and maybe a CF, preferably from Arizona.
I'm a hard pass on a 6 year deal for Contreras or Yoshida.... Abreu at 3 years lines up with extensions going out...
Can Contreras play first? If so he is the best choice, catcher, dh, 1b. Great versatility. Sign one of Brantley or Yuli. Y Diaz, Hensley both could play first in a pinch and Diaz is 3rd catcher (re-sign Maldonado is a sure thing).

Yuli hit .243 with 8 home runs and had barely over 50 rbi’s. He was our full time starter at 1b. yes he got hot in the playoffs. we can’t run it back with him as the #1 option at 1b.
