Huge Rockets and Texans fan and this is my first thread on clutchfans. Also, great win tonight over Tennessee!

I saw something during this game that was a little strange. I'm not sure if someone on this website will know the answer to why this happened, but thought i would ask. Whitney Mercilus sacked Jake Locker (I think it was his first sack), and he didn't celebrate. I found that to be strange, but it was even stranger that no one congratulated him for the sack. He just made the sack and walked straight back to the huddle.

Is Mercilus just a no nonsense type of guy (meaning not going to do a celebration after a good play), or is he not liked in the locker room?

It was a pretty lame sack. I wouldn't have celebrated either.

You do know Connor Barwin cut a part of his finger off with a plastic knife right? I say they don't like him.

Haha but still, a sack is a sack. I just haven't seen someone sack someone and no one regard it happening.

Sad times in the NFL when a player not celebrating is considered "strange" :(

That's my kind of guy. So used to sacking the QB, he doesn't need to celebrate.

We have the best celebrations in the league. I want him to do a cut throat sack dance but i'm sure that's not allowed. Just hope he does something unique to add to our cool personality on the field.

    I have. Plenty of times.

If you sack a guy for a 1 yard loss on a play in which the guy is scrambling and he basically runs right into your arms, you're not exactly going to dance a jig and throw a party.

You want to be a full time starter, it's smart not to hot dog while filling in. Coaches don't tend to love that out of their back ups.

He showed up...now if gets a sack next game as well..you start wondering if he shouldn't start. I thought the pressure was my highlight to the game. Watt, Antonio, Mercilus

If you expect him to do a finger wag, you're just cruel.

They already rotate him in, and Reed is a little more seasoned against the run.

He'll clearly get more opportunities no matter what.

The pressure is going to be on Barwin. Texans have all the leverage in the world unless he runs wild in December-January.

No doubt, the defense is full of talent at linebacker. Phillips will bring out the best in each player. He can find any player a niche and make them look good.
