Stros and Sox would make a great World Series. Either the "Curse of the Black Sox" or the "Curse of the Expansion Team Not From New York" will be broken. It's a win-win situation.
I've been put in a tough situtation here...i'm a huge fan of both the Stros and White Sox. I had lived in Houston during my early childhood days before moving to Chicago and lived their most of my life. I cried yesterday when the WS finally gone back to the World Series again in 50 years and I think I will cry today if the Stros beat the Cardinal. So, if everything played out well and both of my favorite team will be in the World Series...what the hell am I gonna do?
I like the NL in the WS. Be it Astros or Cards. The White Sox have very good starting pitching...and the Angels are making them all look like Cy Young. The Angels had a very mediocre offense and it's looked worse in the post-season. You're not gonna see that in the WS...whether it's the Astros or the Cards.
I agree. What's more scary is that if you say VesceySux three times in front of your computer monitor while reading this thread, you'll summon the twin brother, VecseySux. Also scary, if you switch some letters around and add a couple, you come up with T-H-I-S-I-S-S-T-U-P-I-D.
So would a Cards-White Sox series...even though we all know THERE IS NO FREAKING WAY THAT WILL HAPPEN THIS YEAR!!!!!
I think Astros/White Sox would be worse than Cardinals/White Sox for the simple fact that, for the second straight year, a team besides the Cubs will be exorcizing its playoff demons. ...although, deep inside, I don't think Cubs fans want the Cubs to win the World Series. There will be no more curses, no more "lovable losers", nothing to really distinguish the Cubs from the the rest of baseball In fact, I don't think the Cubs themselves want to win the World Series. Just think of the marketing campaign in 2008..."Chicago Cubs: Celebrating 100 years of losing!" I know, it sounds morbid, but anything to make a buck....
