How un-American of you. The American patriotic way would be to disagree but to fight for the right to say it. Instead you resort to telling someone to go to another nation.

    But please keep on posting.

I'm skimming this thread and I see there's been a diversion to talk about what women are allowed to expose of themselves. I think some of you are confusing a cultural more with a right. There are fairly few things that are considered rights under the US Constitution so as Wnes noted driving isn't a right but neither is wearing clothes.

That is a completely over the top analogy, and completely demeans the struggle going on in Darfur right now.

I'm sorry for your ordeal, and the suffering of your family. It is certainly a horrible event that the rest of us who haven't been through could understand.

But at the same time Katrina isn't the same as Darfur on the whole.

(this edited version is what I meant to have typed the first time.)

Katrina was awful particurly because something like that shouldn't happen in the US. The US at its worse isn't Darfur so it still is an over the top analogy.

    Indeed.

With all due respect to God's Son, I don't buy his story.

If memory serves, a whole bunch of white folks right here in good ol' Houston were involved in helping the victims of Katrina.

    Just sayin'.

What a bunch of elitist jerks. They should have known better than to get involved in the affairs of others. Do they think they are somehow better that the (majority black) population of the Crescent City?

    Racist country? Yea. Maybe.

    EXTREMELY FLAWED COUNTRY? Yea, probably.

But every night I get on my hands and knees and thank God for having the wisdom to bring my father over from the Dominican Republic...which then brought over my mother...which they in turn gave birth to me and my 2 sisters and one brother in America...which then eventually brought peace and prosperity to my mothers 20 brothers and sisters and my fathers 5 brothers and 2 sisters which inspired my brother to join the Marines and put his life on the line...which now I will instill in my two daughters and and nieces and nephews.

I will take a racist, flawed, evangelical, backwards ass thinking, stupid ass president led country over any other any day of the week!

That being said, whitey does tend to step on us brown folk alot. :)

    Whitey On the Moon

"A rat done bit my sister Nell.
    (with Whitey on the moon)
Her face and arms began to swell.
    (and Whitey's on the moon)
I can't pay no doctor bill.
    (but Whitey's on the moon)
Ten years from now I'll be payin' still.
    (while Whitey's on the moon)
The man jus' upped my rent las' night.
    ('cause Whitey's on the moon)
No hot water, no toilets, no lights.
    (but Whitey's on the moon)
I wonder why he's uppi' me?
    ('cause Whitey's on the moon?)
I wuz already payin' 'im fifty a week.
    (with Whitey on the moon)
Taxes takin' my whole damn check,
Junkies makin' me a nervous wreck,
The price of food is goin' up,
An' as if all that **** wuzn't enough:
A rat done bit my sister Nell.
    (with Whitey on the moon)
Her face an' arm began to swell.
    (but Whitey's on the moon)
Was all that money I made las' year
    (for Whitey on the moon?)
How come there ain't no money here?
    (Hmm! Whitey's on the moon)
Y'know I jus' 'bout had my fill
    (of Whitey on the moon)
I think I'll sen' these doctor bills,
    Airmail special
    (to Whitey on the moon)"

The Obama manned space flight thread made me think of this song.
