Frankly, in light of his disregard to prosecute those who have obviously broken the law and sullied the name of our nation; and his desire to join with them as needed - he's lost my vote.

Rhad, don't do it, but let's work to push the timid Mr. Obama in the right direction and perhaps back a progressive primary opponent against him. No Nader spoiler types or we get the McCain-Palin-Romney GOP.

a true progressive will never win. America is FAR more conservative than liberal, and most moderates tend to lean more to the right as well, this is a conservative-centrist nation by and large. Obama is perhaps the most ideologically liberal person of our time but now that he is in power, he feels compelled to govern from the middle and even to the right of center at times. Your dream of a true progressive president enacting a progressive agenda is no less than a generation away.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is not Canada.

Disagree with this last part, unless we put in a Ron Paul somehow. I agree that Obama won't do anything about this, his hands were tied and he's no more different than McCain would be in the same situation. If Obama had moral principles he would have already come after Bush/Cheney for being war criminals.
