Dmo. It would suck to lose him because almost any other coach would utilize him the right and then he is gonna beast in the low block.

Jones would get you the best bang for your buck

If Jones played hard I'd change my mind but if you spot a player who doesn't want to 'bring it' most of the games even though his talent and skill is there then I don't care what your talent or skill set may be, I don't want that type of individual on my team.

Bye Jones. It sucks because I saw so much potential in you

I run a successful company here in Houston and what I preach to my workers is 'I'd rather you be good.. HOWEVER if your going to suck then suck every day if your going to be good then be good everyday, all im really asking is whatever type of worker you are then be consistent at it- that way I atleast know what I'm working with that day- the worst thing you can do is be really awesome one day and sh/tty the next because then I have no idea what I got that day'

There needs to be a "none of the above" option. I'd Morey these guys in a second.

Papa is the only one who could be an All-Star.

I'll go down the list and give my thoughts on each then pick one.

Black: He's a banger with an NBA body. Don't think he has a lot of upside but he does have a place in the league.

Canaan: A lesser version of .... Linsanity ?? Gets to the basket & FT stripe , can shoot some tho not real consistent , poor defender creates more for himself than others. He could stick due to the fact that there are so few playmakers on this roster.

Capela: He probably shouldn't be on the roster this season. Has upside as a defender / shot blocker but no idea if he ever contributes.

Daniels: Hell of a shooter. Did I mention he's a hell of a shooter ?! If he isn't on the Rockets final roster , he'll be on another NBA roster. Far from a complete player but developing.

Johnson: Skillset reminds me an awful lot of .... Courtney Lee. I think that's the limits of his upside. Has to shoot better and improve his handles.

T.Jones: This guy has all the physical tools you could ask for in a PF , even if a bit undersized. He's an athlete not a basketball player , I wonder if he ever "gets it." When the ball gets to him , it stops. Just isn't capable of making quick decisions. Just seems to get lost far too often on both ends of the court.
He'll stay in the league as long as he retains his athleticism.

DMo: Has NBA size and seems to be getting better defensively. Versatile in that he can play 4/5. I think he's being misused by trying to stretch the floor when he's best in the post but that doesn't mesh well with Howard who cant shoot beyond the paint. I'd give him post touches when Howard was on the bench and play him in the high post with Howard .... rather than planting him at the 3 point line. Definitely an NBA player , just wonder if its here.

Papanikolaou: When I first saw this guy I didn't think he was an NBA athlete as he isn't real "explosive" but always seems to do the right things on both ends of the court. 3 point shot hasn't been good but that was expected with the shorter 3point line overseas. Is a little foul prone. Probably not big enough to defend the elite PF's but can play the stretch 4 as well as move to 2 guard offering lots of versatility. Can create for himself & others.

I've got to go with Papanikolaou .... which is a bit shocking to me mainly because of my initial reaction to the guy. I didn't think he belonged on an NBA court but he's proved me wrong there. Don't think he'll ever be a superstar but he can be that consistent glue guy who always makes the right basketball play. Just want to see him improve his shooting and be more careful where fouls are concerned. If he can do that , he gives you a lot of what Parsons did last season.

    Daniels.

I saw quite a few plays to free him and Ariza open for 3s last night. Would hate to see our best shooter go when it looks like were actually running some good stuff to get him open.

There isn't one player you'd be interested in keeping, mute than the rest, to see how they develop?

    Ditto Fullcourt.

As James Harden would say, they're all just role players. ;)

Then you'd pick who you think will be the best role player eventually.

You do realize that Wiggins probably already makes more impact than Pap with his defense alone, and will only get better. Even if he doesn't reach expectations and busts, he's still going to be much better than Kostas. I like Pap, but this type of player you can get in basically every draft. You do that trade instantly. If you get attached to players and let your emotions get in the way, you have no business being a GM.

The question is who would you hate to lose. Some of us wouldn't hate to lose any of them.

Daniels because he is the most unique "role player". How many players in the league that can shoot like Daniels? Not many and most are all-stars or former all-stars.

That is not the question. Rockets have done well in trades and none of these guys have created an emotional bond yet.

I want to see Papanikolaou develop as he's fun to watch, but his contract is only two years and he's almost Harden's age.
Canaan and Capela probably have the most upside, but also have the most downside.
DMo...I just don't know if he's going to develop more.

Papa, because he looks like the best fit, even without playing a single regular season game. I know Jones has loads of potential, but he's so inconsistent and liability on D. Papanikalaou is someone who at least can D up, play his role, and in time shoot the 3 reliably. Everyone else imo has either limited upside or so far away from that upside that it's not consistent with the team's timetable.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Casspi also looked amazing in the preseason last year.

The poll was intended to single out one player, out of the ones we do have. People voting for a "none" option doesn't really add anything to that. They wouldn't have a reason to vote.
