You're trying to tell me a child called out Wood and his reaction is to say he's not going to play anymore? lmao! I bet it was Green. Green was like, "all this stress is not good for my hair, set a good pick." JC was the first one out of the locker room so it wasn't him.
I would think it would be Tate. However, I could see Christopher or Green saying it too.......or maybe Porter in the heat of the moment. DD
It cant be Tate. Tate is old enough to have grand children, he isn't a "young star", Please let it be one of the Rookies. I hope it was Garuba asking to take all of Woods minutes if he didnt want to play.
Tate and Matthews aren't young so it's not them, Green seems way too soft spoken, I doubt Garuba gives a **** with how little minutes he gets. I'm betting JC, KJ or Sengun.
Apparently wood isn’t very well liked around the league. Probably had something to do with the bargain we got on him and also why he’s been traded 5 times. I think people are going to be surprised with his value and the package he brings back when we’re able to move him (hopefully soon).
I could really see Porter. You could visible tell Wood was not a fan of Porter when he came onto the scene last year. Wood was suppose to be the young new face of the franchise a d then Porter started getting a lot of excitement Ever since last season Wood seemed not thrilled when the youngins start balling. I could see tensions getting tight between Wood & Porter dating from last season
My guess is Green. I don’t get the soft spoken stuff. He’s already gotten on Woods ass before and also he yelled at Wood to pass the f’n ball when he went hero mode before. Also, this is the same guy who verbally expressed that he should’ve been the number 1 pick, said he was going to be rookie of the year, yelled at Cade after a big dunk when we played the pistons. If you think Green is some meek, hide in the corner won’t speak up kid you haven’t been paying attention. Also I’d suggest going back and watching some of those documentary vids on YouTube about Green. My second guess would be Christopher, but I really think it was Green.
Any reason why we *don't* think it was KPJ? Given the description I think it has to be a guy younger than Tate.
I thought it was Tate at first but now after seeing his post on Instagram, I'm almost certain it was Green which to me, my respect for this kid just went up a notch. And we've seen Jalen get on Wood before like you said, during an inbound pass. I hope he learns to keep this stuff internal moving forward though.
This. Our roster has 5 “older” guys. Wall, DJ, Theis, Gordon and Nwaba. Wood, Tate and Mathews are in the middle aged category. Everyone else is what I would consider “young” players on the team.
Sengun knows English better than that. I have heard him speak English and while it is broken, he can speak it and understands it…. He also talks to his teammates in English. He is my guess because he has no problems speaking up to his teammates and coaches and has called out people before.
“Wood should be setting a standard on the team.” One, LOL, that’s funny Two, no, not really he shouldn’t. Rockets don’t have a leader. Not a player nor a coach. I guess the closest would be Tate & Lucas? Best player doesn’t necessarily mean leader. The self proclaimed franchise player John Wall is out of sight, out of mind (although I guess credit to him wanting to come back and play? Rockets want no part of him.) Eric Gordon, DJ Augustin…no offense to them but no Then Christian Wood, David Nwaba, Daniel Theis… I say this in defense of Christian: he went undrafted, been on 6 teams and all he knows is losing (teams). Why should he be “the standard” or “expected to set the standards”? Again, he’s not even the elder statesman. Because he’s the “best player”? (Best player on a 17-win & 10-win team…sure I guess?) Everyone else is first or second year players. Maybe Tillman Fertitta or Rafael Stone or Stephen Silas or any number of assistants or John Wall or Eric Gordon should “set the standard”.
