Ya, this is misleading. I voted to keep Scola and trade landry but the question and title is off lol. I think this poll is opposite what it actually is.
I got fooled, too. Although Landry is untradeable because of his contract, I'd keep Scola and trade Landry. Scola has two knees and a non-stop motor.
Haha you didn't get me. I voted Landry, but as I see most people didn't read pole's question. BTW, lock it
Tricky poll... But I managed to answer right! I'd keep Scola which means I would trade Landry. I don't see why we're on the horns of a dilemma here - why can't we keep both?
I'd actually take Landry over Scola. I just think Landry's upside is just much better than Scola. Sure Scola is better now. In two to three years I think Landry will be way better than Scola. Players with a 21 PER just don't grow on trees.
What the hell? The thread title is "Who would you rather keep?" then the thread asks "who would you rather trade?" I chose Scola based on the thread title, but in doing so, I apparently answered incorrectly. That's dumb.
Personally prefer Landry, but scared as hell of his knee so wouldn't trade Scola he is insurance so I wont have to see Chuck Hayes. Scola is almost 30 years old, and yeah he is crafty and yeah he draws charges, but Landry is a better shooter, athlete, and much younger.
yep Landry is younger three years is three years life expectancy in the NBA isn't the same as a working class job.
I take Landry over Scola and here's another reason why. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index?entryID=3460365&name=hollinger_john John Holinger Fortunately, I have a system for converting Euroleague performance to NBA performance, one that's been uncanny in its accuracy in previous seasons. For instance, a year ago I projected a PER of 7.36 for Marco Belinelli, 15.16 for Juan Carlos Navarro and 16.27 for Luis Scola. The actual numbers were 8.23, 11.90 and 16.18, with only Navarro deviating from his projection. Previous seasons have shown similar accuracy. The reason this works is that there's a predictable relationship between a player's stats in the Euroleague -- the highest level of European basketball -- and what they'll be in the NBA. Crossing the Atlantic does the following to a player's results: • Scoring rate decreases 25 percent • Rebound rate increases by 18 percent (there are more missed shots in NBA play) • Assist rate increases by 31 percent (Euro scorers are tightwads with assists) • Shooting percentage drops by 12 percent • Overall, PER drops by 30 percent. This basically says that Scola is as good as he's gonna get and about as efficient as he'll ever be. The upside for Landry is huge compared to Scola.
