You do have to play either C, F, or G. They just don't differentiate between SG/PG and SF/PF. Duncan and KG were both voted in as Fs, Tmac and Kobe were both voted in as Gs. It's just like all NBA teams. The center has to be a center on the Ballot

With Phoenix going back to their running style, Amare will move back to C and surely get the spot imo. Al Jefferson wil probably back him up.

Jefferson is the best offensive post player in the NBA.

Didn't last year's ballot have Duncan as a center until he and the Spurs threw a hissyfit?

He's gonna get at least 1/4 of the center vote.

Okafor, anyone? Are we forgetting that he plays with CP3 now?

It might not be enough to get him in over Duncan, Gasol or Jefferson but i'm rather shocked to not see his name mentioned yet.

Good point. It'll be interesting to see what kind of a player Okafor develops into with CP3 as the floor general. I wouldn't be surprised if he averages around 15 and 10 a game.

I'm just pointing out that it's possible that Duncan could make it into the game as a center. It's a totally relevant fact. I'm sorry it upsets you.

Considering he has career averages of 14 and 11 a game, I think you're right.

I think the categories they use in picking All Stars -- Guard, Forward, and Center -- are dumb. It should be: Bigs, Wings, and Points. Center and Power Forward are interchangeable. Small Forward and Shooting Guard are interchangeable. Shooting Guard and Point Guard overlap to an extent, but there is a special skillset for the Point Guard. You could simplify to two categories, if you wanted: Bigs and Smalls.

I just checked the depth charts for the WC. Yes we did forget Okafor is now in NO at center. Also TD is listed at center. Jefferson, Dirk, P. Gasol & Stoudemire are all listed as PF. Since the all star ballots have the players at their listed positions insyead of where they actually play, my center picks would be TD, Okafer, Okur & Camby in that order.

You seriously think they're less likely to be an All-Star than Chris Andersen? Strange.

Would Chuck Hayes be the shortest center ever to be voted into the All Star game?

I said they were longshots. How does that imply they have a smaller chance than Chris Andersen?
