Which teams have gone through a month of basketball undefeated in the NBA?

I wouldn't worry about a jinx. That already occurred during a press conference Tuesday. I would gladly trade any winning streak for Yao back, but that isn't how life works. For the record, I think the Rockets will win the rest of their home games, before taking their next loss at Dallas. That would give them 16 straight and a franchise record. I was hoping for a little something more...like the LOB trophy, but I guess I'll take what I can get for this season.

Didn't mean to disparage. The Peahens might have made the playoffs that year (the last spot, if you remember, went to the Boise Bisons) had they not last starting Pivot Forward Ben "Solid" Goldstein in that freak train/bicycle collision.

Out of the 16 teams who had streaks of 16 or more, only 5 went undefeated in a month. Pho's had a 15 gm streak and a 17 game streak last yr, but did not do it. The 17 game streak ended on the last game of a month.

You have to dig a little deeper at the data than that link, because SA's '96 streak actually did it although it doesn't look like it. They lost first game of April.

I started with that link and went to more conclusive data. I found historical monthly splits for each team. I'm pretty sure the only teams who went undefeated are listed in my posts above. Give a guy some pats on the back for the 1hr of research that took. I literally went through the month splits of every team for every season. I think I might have missed some from early incarnations of franchises, but I feel solid about the existing franchises.

it's an interesting piece of trivia. One interested part about the streak is 8 of the 12 undefeated months involved hall of fame centers.

Looks like if we win tonight we'll join the Laker's as the only team to do it twice, and the only team to do it across two generations of players.

My bad, checked out the info.

Since the 1991-92 season, only five other NBA teams have won all their games in a month, well Rockets are one of them.
