Our biggest rival is the Jazz. They have punked us out the past few years in the finals, they are what we need to get past to move to that next level. Every team deals with injuries, we can't keep using that as an excuse.

Whoops meant to put they have punked us out in the playoffs not the finals. Is there not an edit post option in this forum?

lol, getting injuried is the excuse....nobody deals with injuries like the rockets....we specialize in injuries...

thats just like getting shot ever time you step out the house, then saying that we can't use gang banging as an excuse

    lakers don't have enough talent.

Do you know what the definition of a rivalry is? Any team in the west will be, for a lack a of a better word, hated, but the Utah Jazz are our Rival. Nothing will be intense than out match-ups with the j*zz.

Yup, Lakers don't have enough talent. They only have the best (clutch) player in the game (I still believe LBJ is the best overall talent). Oh, and yeah, the made it to the Finals without Bynum. Yes, I think he is very overrated, as in, not the next Shaq, but 15 points, 12 boards, and 3 blocks isn't something to ignore. Gasol still a monster too. Maybe he'd be even more intimidating if he'd shave that damn beard and not look like a bird. Tweet tweet.

    Should be Fakers and C.

Many people here are overestimating Hornets as a big factor because of CP3. The sg position is the pain in their asses. They have weak bench. We can at least beat them 3-1 in the regular and 4-1 in the playoffs if they pass Jass in the 1st round.

lol they definitely have more than enough talent but i will bet on one thing. They will have a big problem trying to play bynum at center and moving pau to PF. The problem lies in the fact that bynum and gasol both occupy the same block in the post and odom is no threat from beyond 15-18 feet and absolutely sucks on the baselines . something has got to give . You cant run the triangle offense with all 4 starting with whoever runs point. Either Bynum turns into a single dimension rebounder/ shot blocker with no scoring besides cleanups or Gasol's number take a big hit along with Odom dissapearing majorly. YOU CAN NOT add 15 points a game to a team that was already averaging around 100 whenever it liked . They arent that good, simply because the peices dont fit, has nothing to do with a lack of TALENT . they have plenty of that

i predict either bynum or odom gets benched within first half of season or they have to trade odom for a true 3 who can shoot the 3 ball consistantly.

It will be UTAH FOREVER!!! When we beat them this upcoming year that will just make the Rivalry more intense. If we play them we will beat them.

I would say Hornets and Jazzhole will be really tight!. Lakers will have problem on the big tree, Gasol, Brynum and Odom. Rockets for the Western Conference Title! :D

I have been thinking about how teams will strategize to stop us.

I can see alot of teams crowding the lane. Either playing a 2-3 type zone or a match up zone but aiming to clog the lane as much as possible. That would be the most effective way to slow our offense.

Our big 3 are not renowned outside/3pt shooters, and our role players aren't generally too consistent in that area (argument could be made that Batman can get it done on the regular).

We don't have anyone coming in off the bench that can be a "zone buster" especially with Novak gone.

We are relying on Rafer and Battier to make perimeter shots regularly and that is scary!!

Ok, forgot about Barry temporarily there

Still though, dont think he's good for more than 20mins a game.

If teams play a stright up man on man, we will kill them with our penetration and/or post ups.
