Depends on how you look at it. Those were, for the most part, HIS guys.

What about the Spurs? Tony Parker wasn't exactly a superstar caliber player when he won championships. And neither was Robinson in that strike shortened season.

That is something that I forgot to point out in the original post is that most likely, we still would draft Parsons, and he would most likely overtake Bud in the rotation like he actually did. Though it's hard to say for sure with the Iggy addition, it's safe to assume we still end up getting Parsons in 2011.

Because that worked out well. That is a great lineup with the exception of health, both physical (yao) and mental (Artest and SheMac).

I agree. JVG was a really, really good coach. I was watching recently some of the 2008 playoff series vs. Utah, which went to 7 games, and which also we really should have won...and Utah, talentwise, was CLEARLY the better team. Our starting pg was Rafer Alston and our starting PF was a young Chuck Hayes. Our sixth man was Luther Head who also had a terrible playoff (not JVG's fault that a guy misses open shots). Yao still had a lot to learn at that point and was far from dominant (also he missed a number of free throws down the stretch in game 7...not JVG's fault). So bottom line it was TMac versus an extraordinarily talented Utah team of...MVP-caliber Boozer, Mehmet Okur in his prime, Deron Williams, Kirilienko, Millsap, Korver, a great coach in Jerry Sloan, and lots of great role players.

TMac was as good, probably better than Harden, so be careful there. People blame TMac for playoff failures but it really wasn't his fault. Recently I watched for example game 7 of the Utah series. TMac scored 29 points, had 12 boards, 9 assists. What's more is that he was double-teamed the entire game. When was the last time Harden got double teamed? Also TMac played really good defense. TMac's worst game in that Utah series was all in all better than Harden's best game in the OKC series. Shemac?? Get some glasses.
