We shouldn't have compared loyalty to country with that to a city, what I know is Yao love CHINA because he is a Chinese, meanwhile he loves HOUSTON because he is Rocketman. So i chose Yao

I pick either Hakeem or Rudy T both gave to Houston very good things.

And how people can vote for Yao?

You know the topic of the thread has nothing to do with China right?
City of Houston <> Country of China

Well many other players are 'Rocketman' like Luis Scola, Rafer, Ron Artest etc
so your reasoning for picking Yao makes no sense.

Your defense for picking Yao is the most r****ded nonsensical thing I have heard. Why not just come right out and say I picked Yao because I like him the most?

You guys are featured on Sina.com once again... (A good thing since it is read by millions -- but the author usually never references the source)

    http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2008-09-08/09583929548.shtml

Wonder if those people who works for Sina actually posts here...

By the way, if Yao has to choose between Houston and China, we already know what he is going to choose. So I would hardly call that royalty. Just my two cents.

All the votes that yao is getting are from yao-only-fans. heck steve francis should before yao. i mean he came back here after we traded him. what exactly has yao done to warrant all these votes?.

You are too dumb not to be able to see that most of the 168 people made the vote simply because they thought it was funny or just to get on tinman's nerve. I have seen at least 10 persons who had admitted it in their posts. Are you another simple-minded who believes everyone on the internet would vote on something that they truly believe in?

hakeem for sure. the guy loves houston and its his home here in the USA. yao hasnt been around long enough whereas hakeem had both college ball and NBA on his back. people hatin' on the dream because he wanted to get paid. he was UNDERPAID for so many years prior to the 2nd title, he deserved every penny.

shaq was getting 20 million a year , hakeem was a bargain!

nah , only a few joke votes,

everyone else thinks that Yao Ming is more loyal to Houston more than Dream or Clyde or Rudy T or Calvin. You're the one blind to their lack of logic.

The day Yao requests citizenship cause loves this city will be the day he deserves a vote on here.

You quoted one person while I can easily quoted you five persons that had admitted that they made the vote just to get on your nerve. But then you could come up with the 'everyone' assumption. Brain.

I don't about you but this is Hakeem's pool, no doubt.

I think he's the most loyal non American person to city of Houston if you expand the criteria.

i cant believe yao has so many more votes than Rudy T thats just preposterous

i voted for Hakeem because of all he did as a player for the team and organization. Also if you noticed at the HOF ceremony they had banners showing the teams/organizations that each player belong to and what organization they wanted to represent going into the hall.

    Ewing had knicks and georgetown
riley had lakers knicks and heat
    dantley had pistons and jazz

Hakeem? Just the Rockets he went in as a Houston Rocket

thats loyal, he even thanked Les Alexander (though ESPN had no idea who that was) during his speech.

Rudy T is a close second to me, I loved seeing the painting the Rockets gave him when he came back to Houston when he was coaching that other team hanging in his house. (you could see when they interviewed him about Hakeem going into the HOF)

Yao has had a huge impact on this team and city dont get me wrong, but not nearly on the same level as Hakeem and Rudy T...maybe one day who knows but not now.
