Yao and Tmac have been loyal to Houston but they're not the most loyal. If they want to prove they are loyal, bring us the championship =P

This is the thing you obviously dont get, and the main point that shaaz has been driving at. I agree with shaaz that I have no problem with Yao playing on CNT but the fact that he is hurting our team with a stress fracture means he has been playing too much which is obviously due to him not taking the summer break all other NBA players get to play national ball.

Sucks not being able to edit... I want to add that what you said is a risk of injury is a reality that seems to happen every year. I understand how it doesn't affect you, since he is always healthy to play for CNT, but if a player that your favorite team is molded around and used valuable resources to get only plays for half a season every year, thats not much of a return on the investment. I just don't think you understand the frustration of Rockets fans in general because CNT always gets to see Yao play healthy.

I have to agree with this comment. I've been a full supporter of Yao playing for CNT. Why not? People always wants to play and represent for their country. USA players do it and so does Spain, Argentina, etc... However, Yao's not young anymore and if it's detrimental to his basketball career, he needs to learn to limit himself. It's better for China and the Rockets if he took some time off before the next Olympics. Even if Yao has to play in the next Olympics, he doesn't have to play every year against crappy asian teams. It would've been better for China if Yao was 100% healthy for this year's Olympics but they ended up with a 60% Yao. He's not a machine, he's a human being.

Whoever votes Yao as the most loyal to Houston obviously never heard of Hakeem or Clyde... if Hakeem nor Clyde win this poll the poll is useless. Both of these guys been loyal to Houston since at least the 1980's, and in Clyde's case all his life. Yao has been around since 2002....

Not a Yao hater but Yao is as loyal to Houston as the Tru Warier. Maybe even less because Ron Ron has been loving Houston since he came here ;)

Maybe this has already been brought up, but active players shouldn't be on this poll. To be truly loyal to a city, the players has to continue showing his love AFTER his playing career is over.

Guys like John Lucas, Gene Peterson and even Matt Bullard qualify. But I've got to go with Clyde Drexler.

Despite playing most of his career in Portland (which is not of his choosing), he has spent all his time after retirement in Houston, as a university coach and now a commentator. The guy has obviously made Houston his home.

Frankly I can't see Yao, McGrady or even Francis sticking around Houston after their playing days are over. They may keep a home in Houston to visit once in a while, but their true home will probably be elsewhere.

In the defense of Yao, he could've played for more money elsewhere when he was free agency after his rookie contract, but he chose to stay in Houston. Not because he is necessarily loyal to the city of houston but because he is loyal to whatever team he plays in.

Wow the fact that Yao is behind Hakeem by 2 votes makes me question the intelligence of this board a little.
