That game was the EPITOME of fourth quarter collapse.

We've lost a lot of really ****ty games this year... If we had won just like HALF of the games that we lost to clearly inferior opponents, we would be so far ahead of everybody for 2nd place.

... But on the bright side, we have played very well against all the playoff teams except LA.

Remember a while back when the buzzer went off any finley still shot it and it counted anyway against the kings?

i know this isnt a rockets game but at this stage in the season its had the biggest impact on our seeding.

Yeah definitely the chicago game comes to mind. Then when the rockets lost to the spurs earlier in the season when they didnt have parker or ginoboli playing.. and i think the rockets held a lead going into the 4th. then there was that 3 by bibby in atlanta to beat us.. and of course roy's BS shot. we could have securely held the division and 2nd seed with around 58-60 wins had they not lost to all the bottem feeders.

Every single team in the league loses games "they should have won." The Rockets are not a special case no matter how much you want to believe that as a Rockets fan.

You can't make statements like "we would be in this or that place in the standings if we won this or that game" without applying the same thing to other teams.

This is absolutely right, and I was about to say the same thing myself. ;) What do you think Utah fans are saying on jazzfanz about the Minnesota and Golden State games they just played?

pretty much every team that we lost to who is below .500 stings me alot. hahah jk. i could think of :

    first meeting at SA
    roys buzzer beater
    wizards loss at home
tmac and ron jacking up 3s in madison square garden
that first cavs game pissed me off bc the refs sucked
    the pacers game at home
    grizzlies losses
    clippers loss
the first home game against the lakers(think we lost only by 3)
boston loss on election day (we lost by 4)

wow thats 9 games right there...we coulda had 60 wins this year and wouldnt have to worry abt playoff seedings :(

The Bulls collapse may be the worst, but there were a bucketload of braindead losses to choose from. Earlier in the season, even somewhat after the break, the Rockets perfected the art of playing down to the competition. At one point, I got so disgusted with this habit, I had to take a break from the board, and actually considered signing off permanently.

Folks, for some of us it has been a long frustrating road of some seriously stupid basketball. Thirteen years since the last playoff series victory. Mind numbing personnel moves, bloated contracts, and inexplicable trades. The Sura led 2005 team was the last one I even remotely enjoyed watching until now. Since the break, the team has acquired a personality that is somewhat appealing. They aren't there yet, but they are progressing. Scola and Von Wafer have added the most. I have a tinge of optimism that a playoff series victory is near. My chief concern is that Artest won't go "psycho" and dribble-shoot the team out of the playoffs.

Whatever happens this team desperately needs a veteran PG and a few more athletic players that can shoot consistently. (I want Travis Outlaw to be a Rocket really bad) The Yao/Tmac era is over and forget about a Yao/Artest era, not. But, the team has potential. Scola is hugely underrated. Yao is predictable. Artest adds toughness. Battier is not my favorite player but adds the so-called intangibles. AB is a bit shaky, but could improve. The bench is impressive. When they play serious defense, they look like a tough out.

I have always hated the Spurs #2, while #1 has varied between Dallas and Utah. Since about 2006 Utah has occupied number one and Dallas has fallen off, but the Spurs have never moved.

I'm STILL bitter about the infamous Suns-Spurs series, and I don't even care for the Suns. The fact that the Spurs were the media's darling of "the ultimate example of fundamental championship sports etiquette" is laughable.

That was a fun team, but didn't you enjoy the 22-streak team, even for a little while?

Chicago collapse and Roy's 3 by far IMO.

Those sting, many of the other losses were more of a disappointment.

Yes I did, but the end of season beat down by the Jazz and the first round exit erased it. The constant chucking by TMac for 30% shooting really got on my nerves, and that happened a good part of that season.
